The sounds of birds chirping happily sounded so peculiar to her ears.
Airi couldn't recall the last time she felt relaxed. Free of worries, no heavy burdens on her shoulders, a world where everything goes by peacefully. She would be lying if she said she didn't miss that free-spirited feeling.
As she sat on the bench outside of the school building, a place where Aizawa instructed her to be so she could clear her mind after the day's event, Airi finally realised she actually needed this. She needed her time alone, where she could finally think about everything that has happened to her.
She needed silence for herself.
And most importantly, she needed to find herself back.
"Is this who you want to be, Airi?"
She almost didn't recognise the soft and delicate voice which escaped her very own lips. Airi had her head hung low when she stared into her open palms, gradually activating her quirk. The violet flames gracefully twirled between each one of her fingers, slow dancing with the wind as if they were meant to be for one another. At the sight of this natural beauty, a smile curved onto her lips. Oh, how much she missed the times where she genuinely loved herself for inheriting Violet's quirk.
"Mommy?"
"Yes, love?"
Airi held her mother's hands gently, asking, "Am I evil?"
Ichika's eyebrows furrowed at her question. She placed her fingers under her daughter's chin, tilting them sideways so she could properly face her mother. "No! Why would you say that?"
The five year old girl sighed, looking down onto her small hands. "Because my friends keep avoiding me. They said I'm a bad person because I hurt people. But, mommy, it was an accident, wasn't it? I didn't mean to hurt anyone..."
Oh, how painful it was to hear those sentences and unanswered questions escape the lips of a young child.
