Airi cursed under her breath, eyes flaring in anger.
Was it the second? Or third time? Endeavor has again outrun the four hero trainees after he had successfully captured another hit-and-run thief right by Kyushu Street. It was so frustrating, especially for the girl because she knew so well she had been patrolling the same roads and alleyways since her first hero internship yet every single time there was a beep in her in-ear, the villain had been captured as fast as the speed of light.
It wasn't a matter of not knowing the roads now. It was her speed. That was her weakness.
And it makes her so angry because even after a whole week, she couldn't manage to even arrive at the scene first before the villain laid in the hands of Endeavor.
"He's too fast...", Midoriya said in between deep and long pants, not being able to keep up with the hero's speed.
"I know right.", Airi shuts her eyes tightly in anger, muttering out, "At this rate, we wont be able to catch up with him."
"At least you always arrive earlier than all three of us, Airi.", Shoto was the first to praise, the sweat dripping from his forehead down to his forearms. "We're not even close. It would take us at least three seconds to match his pace."
"Oi, loser. You got an extra quirk for super senses or something?", Bakugou called out roughly from behind, his spikey locks drenched with sweat. "Your reaction time is fucking insane, I gotta say."
Airi wiped off the sweat with the back of her palms, her eyes watching the third villain being brought away by the authorities in a police car. She shrugged her shoulders,
"I don't know, honestly. I think its because Hawks had been training me and Tokoyami with our own in-ear since our internship from last year, so its only natural for the beep sound to jolt my senses awake. And also-"
Beep!
Her body reacts so impulsively, so naturally, that milliseconds after that alarming sound, her violet flames immediately sprouted out of her palms, following Endeavor so closely behind. Heck, even Airi was surprised herself her reaction was way faster than her thinking.
The other three hero trainees widened their eyes in shock, at how yet again, the girl's reaction was ahead of them.
Though the Pro Hero never praised her again after the first time, he was always impressed at Airi's quick senses, and how her speed seemed to improve in a matter of days.
