Blindingly bright lights. The faint smell of disinfectant, the soft whistling sounds of the air cond.

Airi could already guess her location just by the mere hints of her surroundings. Even so, she refused to open her eyes. She didn't want to wake up from her dream, the pain of empty thoughts. If possible, she would want to clear her mind from the memories of what had happened to her on that unfortunate night. The devious look on his face, the dreadful phrases that escaped his lips, they were painstakingly evident in her head. She could hear those phrases echoing in her head to remind her how weak and helpless she was on that night.

Maybe she should stop sleeping now.

She fluttered her eyes open, the white ceiling greeting her vision. Averting her gaze to the left, she could see the birdboy sitting on his own bed adjacent to hers, studying his open palms. As if he could sense the sudden movement from her, he lifted his eyes to see the girl unexpectedly awake from her deep slumber.

"You're awake already?", he asked, making his way to sit on the stool in front of her bed.

Airi hummed, closing her eyes again. The pain on her wrists and on her lower abdomen seemed to gradually dissapear, although she could still feel the faint stinging on them. But she fought the pain, trying her best to sit upright with the help of her friend. Tokoyami placed his hand behind her back, gently pulling her body up.

"Does it still hurt?", he pointed at her wrists.

"A bit. But I can move them now.", she answered, her voice croaking. She looked over to the window, and saw that it was still dark outside.

"How long have I been asleep?"

He released a sigh. "More than 10 hours. Slept the whole day actually."

She clasped her hands together on her lap, and looked over to the boy this time. She eyed the bandage wrapped on his right forearm, and another thick one on his left knee.

"You okay?", she nudged her chin at the bandages. "That looks serious."

"Better than yesterday. I almost got disintegrated by that villain in USJ. You remember?"

"Oh yeah. Tomura Shigaraki.", her eyes widened in realisation. "Oh my god, did you lose a limb?"

He lets out a deep chuckle, looking away. "No, Hawks came right on time. I was grateful I swiped on the device before he founded out about it."
