The sunlight streaming into my room seems brighter today. I wake up, a smile on my face remembering that today, October twelfth is my seventeenth birthday. I turn to wake up Diara, but she wasn't there.
I do that every special morning. I miss Diara, Jenson, and Issac so much it hurts some days. However, I don't allow myself to be sad today. I change into my robes and run down to the Great Hall. Blaise waves me over happily.
"Happy Birthday," He says, smiling while handing me a jumbo-sized bag of Honeydukes.
"Thanks, Blaise," I smile. Kylie hands me a white leather messenger bag.
"I love it, it's so gorgeous!" I hug her tight. Daphne gets me an amazing butterfly clip with green and white gems and matching earrings. Draco picks me up happily when he enters a few minutes later.
"Happy birthday, love!" Draco says, shining brightly.
"Thank you," We eat breakfast together, recounting fond memories we've had together before heading off to class. Everyone was whispering in a group without me, which seems a bit odd. However, I was preoccupied with listening to lectures and perfecting magic to care.
Sasha,
It's crazy to think you're seventeen already. Holy cow, time flies by fast. I remember when you were just a tiny little kid and would run around the backyard with us and play tag. We miss you a whole lot, but we hope you are having an awesome time.
Love, Issac
Happy Birthday, Sasha!
I'm missing you like crazy, but I hope you are having an awesome time. Enjoy your gifts from Jenson, Issac, Mom, Dad, and me.
Love, Diara
Holy cow Sasha. Don't grow up on me too fast. I miss you, especially today when it's your birthday and you're not here next to me. Just a few more months until Christmas, then we can hang out 24/7 to make up for lost time.
Happy Birthday, Sasha.
Love, Jay Jay.
Happy birthday, Sasha. We know you are changing the world at Hogwarts, and we love you more than you could know.
Mommy Izzy and Daddy Ezra
I sniffle at the letters. I haven't had time to dwell on my siblings that I missed so much. They were my whole world, and living without them has indeed been tough.
During lunch, Blaise runs up to me, panicked. "Follow me," He grabs my hand and pulls me out of the Great Hall, leaving my friends pretty confused.
"Blaise, what's going on?" I ask, nervous. He tears up seven flights of stairs and leads me to a wall. I hear screaming.
"Draco's stuck...he...can't...get...out," Blaise pants, and it's only then when I realized my promise ring was glowing red.
"Draco?" I call.
"Sasha, thank Merlin! I don't know how much time I have left, the room is closing fast," Draco says, sobbing. I shove Blaise aside and pull out my wand.
"Get away from the wall!" I call loudly.
"Huh?" Draco asks, but it's too late. I blew the wall to pieces, sending Draco flying back.
"Draco!" I run through the rubble, being careful not to trip over any stone. The Vanishing Cabinet is still intact. Draco's head is slightly bleeding.
