I trudge up the path, wiping my eyes from the final goodbyes I left to my friends. The worst part is, I'll never get to say goodbye to Diara, Issac, Cameron, and Jenson.
Jenson.
The older brother who I took care of for years. The boy that fought off any boy who would even set eyes on me. The older brother who loved me more than any person in this world.
"Sasha," Harry says softly.
"Coming," I whisper, saying my final goodbye to Hogwarts as I keep walking up to the clearing. I hold my necklace and promise ring, thinking of Draco now. I wouldn't have spent my last few hours alive any other way than being with him.
I hear someone running. I don't touch my wand. This is the end, I think.
"Sasha! Harry!" A familiar voice calls.
Dad? I wonder. It was him. I hug him tightly.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" I ask.
"I'm here to stop you. There's a solution, Sasha. One where you and Harry live," I stare at him, waiting for the answer until it clicks.
Dad will sacrifice himself.
"No, Dad. I won't let you, and they want us. Not you," I say with conviction. Dad takes my hand.
"There's a way. And I don't mind. This is how I say I'm sorry for the lies, the overprotectiveness, my disappearance. You are young, Sasha. You have a beautiful life ahead of you. There's nothing left here for me," Dad says softly. Fresh tears stream down my face.
"I can't lose you, too. I've lost Mom already, I can't lose you," He wraps me in a hug.
"I'll always be with you," He whispers and I cry into his chest. Dad makes a cut in my and Harry's hand as well as one in each of his palms. As he holds our hands, a bright blue glow emits from us all. All of a sudden, the fatigue and weakness began to fade away. Like it was being washed away. Dad sits on the floor and fixes all of our cuts.
I'm still here. That just happened.
"Dad..." I sniffle but he only smiles sadly.
"There is no reason to be sad. I'll be alright. I'm sure your mother is missing me," Harry thanks him profusely as we head back to Hogwarts. I sprint back to the Common Room, where my friends sit in a clump on the floor by the couches.
"You know, I still expect her to walk through that door with something funny to say..." Blaise trails off and starts to cry again.
"You know, wishes can come true," I say, causing all my friends to look at me.
"Sasha..." Kylie asks.
"It's me," I smile and everyone covers their mouths happily. They run to hug me, crying happy tears into my shoulders.
"But how is this possible?" Pansy asks.
"My dad broke the connection between The Dark Lord and I and connected it to himself. He broke Harry's connection, too," Kylie hugs me again, followed by Blaise and Theo.
"Don't ever, and I mean EVER, do that to me again," Kylie orders.
"Yes ma'am," I laugh.
"Go see Malfoy. He's devastated," Blaise says and I run towards the stairs before the words can fully leave his mouth. I open the door. Draco is sitting on the bed, my note and pictures of us in his hands as he sobs uncontrollably.
"Go away," Draco chokes out as he cries.
"It's me," I say softly. Draco turns around and I hug him tightly.
"Sasha it's really you..." Draco sniffles.
"It's me, love. I'm so sorry," I kiss his cheek and wipe his tears away.
"But how?" He asks.
"My dad broke my connection with The Dark Lord and did the same for Harry," I explain. Draco kisses me and I feel the last of his tears on my cheek.
"I love you," I say.
"I love you more and don't try to argue that," Draco jokes and I laugh.
The rest of the night I felt somewhat normal, but all I could think about was Dad. The thought that he'll never walk me down the aisle. He'll never see his grandkids. He'll never see me get my dream job. But he was doing this because he loves me. He loves me too much to let my life go to waste.
"Let's take a walk," Draco suggests and I agree. We stroll along the Quidditch pitch in silence for a moment.
"Sasha?" Draco asks.
"Mhm?"
"Will you still love me after all of this? After I complete my task and devote my life to darkness?" Draco asks in a shaky voice. I take his hand and look into his perfect stormy grey eyes.
"Of course I will. That's not even a question, love. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, " Draco blushes.
"You're so cute and don't try to argue because I know deep down you agree with me," We both laugh and keep walking hand in hand.
"It's happening in two days," Draco chokes out. He's not ready for this, I think to myself. Horrible judgment to give a seventeen-year-old a task to kill.
"Is there anything I can do?" I ask kindly, my other hand on Draco's back.
"Stay alive. Stay with me so that when this is over we can make our visions come true," Draco replies.
Did he say our visions?
"Wait, you said..."
"I see them, too," Draco smiles brightly. I playfully shove him and he shoves me back.
"Remember our first date? How you couldn't watch the movie but we went to the Griffith Observatory instead? And when we went to the Santa Monica Pier and I won you that teddy bear?" Draco asks.
I laugh. "You were so nervous. I could see it," We both laugh.
"Oh my god, Homecoming!" I smile recalling the memories.
"You looked amazing that night," Draco comments and I blush.
"Ooh, what about the time when we went to the Haunted House with Diara and Cameron?" Draco laughs.
"We do not speak of that time," He jokes.
"You were TERRIFIED!" I laugh, remembering the scared look on Draco's face when we were attacked by clowns.
"Ok but those were scary! I don't know how Cameron was so calm," Draco defends himself.
"Me neither," I shake my head. This felt good. Remembering the things we shared, the moments that we will hold onto forever.
As I started to drift off to sleep, I think of Draco. One day, love. One day soon this will all be over.
Little did I know that one day would be closer than I thought.
A/N: So now I'm crying...
The next chapter will probably be really long and may take me a day or two to write.
Additionally, we are reaching the beginning of the end. After the Battle of Hogwarts, there will be a few more epilogue chapters, then Alien will officially be marked as complete.
It's so crazy to think about, really. I'm getting a bit sad to think about. This book has been amazing and I have loved reading your comments and thank you for all the love I've been getting.
Hope everyone is well. Stay well, stay healthy, and don't forget to smile :)
