Night 20: Sasha

I huff and make my way to the library. Harry was pissing me off, thinking that Draco is all bad. There are two sides to everyone, especially Draco.

I remember a lecture in a summer Honors Program I went to in the summer of 7th grade. It was mostly high schoolers, however, due to my exceptional grades, I got in. I remember sitting in the front row of my Ethics class and the teacher, Ms. Peters pulled out two necklaces. One was white, one was black, and they were Yin and Yang.

"Now, who can tell me what this is?" She asks. Many students raised their hands, but she picks on me.

"Yin and Yang, a symbol that represents how two sides create balance," I explain to my peers.

"Correct. Every human has this in them. There are two representations of this. The first being the white side represents what everyone sees and hears. Your appearance, what you say aloud, body language, the list goes on. The black is what people don't see, such as internal thoughts and conflict. But, both make you who you are," Ms. Peters looked at the rest of the class. We were all nodding along, and I was smiling, fascinated.

"Now, the second theory is a bit different. It's the two sides to a person. One can be beautiful, kind, loving, the other can be broken, hurt, and dark. Together, they still make the person, but you choose who you see. I hope you all choose the beautiful one, it would be a shame if everyone saw you as hurt and broken," Ms. Peters passed around the necklaces for everyone.

A kid raised their hand. "Ms. Peters, how can we see someone's Yin and Yang?" She asked. Ms. Peters smiled.

"Interesting question, Alex. It can be hard to see who someone is, but you can see how they act. It may change, but all you have to do is be aware,"

I reach the library, snapped out of my daze. I pull out my quill and some parchment to start working on a Potions essay. Someone covers my eyes.

"Guess who?" A familiar voice asks.

"None other than Draco Malfoy, if I'm not mistaken," Draco laughs and sits next to me.

"Let's go to the dorms, the library is boring," He starts to get my stuff, and I have no choice but to follow him. We reach his dorm and I sit at his desk, continuing to work on my essay.

Abut an hour into me working, Draco sighs. Loudly. I look at him and laugh a bit, then get back to work. Not five minutes later, he does it again.

"What's wrong, love?" I ask. Draco huffs.

"You've been here for one hour, and not once have you cuddled me," He pouts like a toddler and I smile, my heart swelling.

"Well, I have homework," I say, not giving in. If I don't finish this now, I may never finish it.

"Pleaaasseee?" Draco asks, giving me puppy eyes. My heart swells up, he was so cute sometimes. I jump onto the bed and snuggle under the covers. I nestle myself in the crook of Draco's arm, smiling.

"Finally," He jokes and I snicker. He strokes my hair.

"Can you believe it's already October?" Draco asks me.

"Nope, not at all," I reply, starting to feel a bit sleepy.

"I love you," Draco whispers.

"And I love you," We both fall asleep.

For some reason, I hear screams. Someone screaming my name, telling me to wake up, but I can't. Someone screaming to let me go.

My eyes shoot open. I wasn't in Draco's room. Actually, I have no idea where I am. All I see is a brightly lit, empty, gray room.

I also realize I'm sitting upright on a cold, metal throne-like chair. When I try to move, I see my feet and hands are bound in chains. Bellatrix stands before me.

"Crucio," She hisses, and I'm filled with immense pain so bad I scream. Bellatrix cackles, but I don't let her have the satisfaction of knowing she hurt me.

"Let me go!" I scream, struggling against the bondage, but it only gets tighter.

"That should do, for now. Blood traitor," She leaves.

"Help!" I yell, but it's no use. No one comes. I shake my hands and legs to hopefully break them, but they only got tighter.

I thought about the chains coming off, me being able to stand. Suddenly, they loosen. My right hand frees first, following my left. I keep thinking about the chains breaking, and soon, my legs were free.

"That's weird," I think, but run out of the room. Now, I'm in an elegant manor with green carpeting and sophisticated art. I spot a large portrait painting at the end of the hall. It's of the Malfoys. Lucius, Narcissa, and Draco. Draco looks so sad like he was forced to be there. Lucius looks menacing and sinister like he's the Dark Lord himself. Narcissa looks beautiful but strained.

I hear voices, and I know to run. I duck into an empty room to decide my next move. If I escaped the room by thinking about getting out, what if I were to think about Hogwarts? I remember every detail, the towers, the dungeons, Draco's dorm room. Suddenly, I'm in the Slytherin Common Room.

"Not bad," I sigh, relieved. I run to Draco's dorm, and sure enough, he was in there.

"Sasha!" He hugs me tightly, tears falling onto my shirt.

"Sssh, I'm alright. They didn't hurt me much," I stroke Draco's face to calm him down, but he's still crying.

"You-were asleep...then the smoke came...I tried to wake you up...but...." I hug him once again.

"I heard it, but I couldn't open my eyes," I explain. We walk back to Draco's bed and he holds me tight.

"I'm not letting you go," Draco whispers. I chuckle.

"Draco I can't sleep right now. I need to see Harry," I get up and put on a fleece sweater.

"Why?" He asks, getting up as well.

"To make sure he's alright. Whenever I'm in danger, his scar hurts." I kiss his cheek before I leave. I briskly walk to the Gryffindor Common Room, the dewy air giving me goosebumps. I spot the portrait and say the password.

"Harry?" I ask and he turns my way.

"It happened again," We say at the same time, laughing a bit.

"We have to get to the bottom of this," I say, pacing the Common Room.

"Agreed. You think you can contact your father?" He asks, hopeful.

"I don't know. I don't know where he is. He left me a series of numbers, and it may be an Azkaban inmate number," I think aloud. Harry nods along.

"We should research tomorrow. Maybe even ask Dumbledore," Harry suggests.

"Good idea," I nod and make my way back to my dorm. Draco is waiting for me.

"You didn't have to wait," I say kindly. Draco sighs, kissing my forehead.

"I had to make sure you came back safely. Anything with Potter?" He asks as I slide back into bed.

"We're researching and talking to Dumbledore in the morning," I reply and Draco nods.

"Sasha I'm so sorry. I never wanted this to happen to you," Draco looks regretfully.

"You're not doing anything, love. Everything will be fine," And with that, I drink a dreamless sleep potion to fall asleep.
