Alien: A Draco Malfoy Fanfiction

Day 18: Draco

I sit up, realizing that I had fallen asleep on Sasha. She's asleep on my shoulder. I remember everything that Mother told me last night. Father is going to Azkaban, the Ministery is searching our house today, and the trial is Wednesday.

Sasha wakes up. "Do we have class?" She asks.

"Morning to you as well, love." I joke as she kisses my cheek. "No, we are free all day." We both stand up and stretch. Sasha flops onto my bed and wraps herself in the blankets. I lay next to her and hold her.

"You okay?" She asks.

I think. Even though Father and I never got along, he was still my father.

"I will be soon." I reply, deciding that indeed I will be.

"Alright then." I see Sasha smile as she sits up. She cups my cheeks in her hands and kisses me softly.

"I love you, never forget that." She tells me before getting up.

"Likewise." I reply and we both get ready. Sasha changes into patchwork jeans and a plain black shirt. She waits for me to finish getting ready before we head to breakfast.

In about two weeks, this place will be filled with people, with my friends, my enemies, with people I barely know. Boys.

Boys who will be looking at Sasha.

I'm dreading it.

After breakfast, Sasha and I walk around Hogwarts, my mind still on everything Mother told me last night. 

"Hey," Sasha turns to face me, my eyes down on the ground.

"Do you need some time alone?" She asks kindly. 

"Can you stay? I love your company." I reply, and of course, Sasha stays. She chats about what pieces of wisdom her father has written for her in that journal, and I zone in and out.

"Draco?"

"Hm?"

"You know you can tell me anything, right?" Sasha sits on the grass and I join her. 

"I know. I'm just processing, you know?" I reply. Sasha nods and continues to talk about her father's journal.

At 13:00, I make my way to Diagon Alley. Because of my father's "failures", I'm expected to take his place. I feel my stomach churn when I spot Mother.

"You're late. Where..never mind that." Mother says, distressed. She leads me to where the rest of the Death Eaters are sitting. Aunt Bellatrix, Alecto, everyone.

"He's late!" Alecto screeches but Mother waves the claim away.

I sit down and fidgit with the ring Sasha gave me. I wish she was here, holding my hand, telling me it will be alright. But, would she be alright?

"Young Malfoy, you must carry out your father's task. Kill Dumbledore." Mother says, her voice cracking. She had told me how much she begged and pleaded for me to not do this. She had offered up her own life, and that's where I stepped in.

I left shortly after hearing the news, my heart pounding out of my chest. I spot a bright, hazel eyes girl in the distance. She looked around, taking the scenery in. She looked so innocent.

It's Sasha. I have never been so happy to see her. She holds a bag of Honeydukes in her hand, and she's nibbling at a chocolate frog. I approach her.

"What are you doing out?" I ask, a bit annoyed. She could have been seen, then what would have happened?

"I got candy." She replies, just like a little kid. She holds a full bag of Honeydukes and I chuckle. I take a pack of Jelly Beans and pick at the bad flavors. I walk behind Sasha, praying no one will see her.

"I didn't realize I ordered a bodyguard." Sasha jokes.

"They're here." I whisper, and Sasha's pace changes. We hurry back to Hogwarts, collasping on the ground when we are safe.

"Is that why you were so upset?" Sasha asks, looking at me. "Does it have to do with them?"

I nod. Sasha sighs, looking into the never ending sky. "This is gonna change everything, right? The calm before the storm?" I sense Sasha's sad tone. I hold her hand and we raise it to the sky.

"We'll always come out on top, I promise." I say with conviction, not just for her, but for me too. Sasha smiles confidently. 

"Us against the world."

"Always and forever."

But what if it wasn't?
