Draco left me. I don't know for how long, but he's gone.
"Hey, you okay?" A voice asks. It's Issac. I wonder what he's doing here.
I wipe my eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine." I lie. "I didn't know you were here," I say.
Issac shrugs, pulling his dark hood to cover his dirty blonde hair. "Just came to hang out with Jenson I guess. Like always." He smiles. "Come on, I know you're upset. Is it over that boy?" Issac asks kindly.
"He...he's going back to his hometown, and his family may not let him come back," I say, sniffling.
"You're scared he's going to leave you. Like how your parents left you." Issac clarifies. I nod.
"He's not going to. I'm sure everything will be fine. You can always call and text him." Issac assures and I smile a bit. He goes upstairs to be with Jenson.
That was more than a month ago.
I'm officially adopted now, I moved into Mom and Dad's house, did my finals, welcomed the New Year, went back to school.
But yet, not a single message from Draco.
"Hello? Sasha?" Diara waves her hand in front of my face.
"Oh, yeah, sorry." I say, smiling. "What's up?" I ask.
"Let's go watch TV before the boys take over." She suggests and I nod, but to be honest, I just want to hide under my blankets and pray Draco will come home.
I put on Draco's signature evergreen sweater that still had his hint of peppermint and green apples. I trot down the stairs to find Diara skipping through channels.
"Move, we wanna play video games." Issac hops over the back of the couch to land right in the middle of it. Having two 18 year old brothers is a battle of sanity, and so far, I'm losing it.
"We were here first, you idiot." Diara retorts and Issac changes the system to the XBox.
"Uh uh. Not gonna happen." I say and take the remote from him. Issac tries to get it, but I toss it over Issac's hood-covered head to Diara. He lunges for her, but the remote is already in my hands.
"Sasha give it back!" Issac whines.
I think. "Alright, you want this so bad, then you're gonna have to work for it. We'll play any game you want, two on two. If Diara and I win, you boys are gone. If you win, you have the TV." I challenge.
"Deal." Issac agrees, and we set up. I memorized Jenson's technique, so he was eliminated in mere minutes.
"Sasha cheated!" Jenson complains.
"I strategized." I corrected and Diara laughs.
"We win!" Diara exclaims happily. Issac groans.
"I'm actually gonna go out. Let them have it while I'm gone." I say. Diara gets all mad while Jenson and Issac push her off the couch.
I took the car Diara and I share and drove up to Draco's point. It was pitch black and cold outside, but I didn't care. All I wanted was for Draco to come home.
My eyes felt like rainclouds, and I let myself cry. It had been too long since he left, and he hasn't called once.
"Please come home." I whisper over and over again. I spot a shooting star and remembered the story about the Starboy.
"I wish Draco would come back." I whisper into the never-ending night sky.
"Sasha?" A voice asks with a twang of an accent. I turn around.
"Draco?!" I run into his open arms, embracing him for the first time in over a month. Tears of joy spill out.
"I'm so sorry for leaving you." He whispers.
"Well, you're here now, and that's all that matters." I reply softly. Draco lets go and thumbs away my tears.
"It wasn't supposed to be that long, but they enforced security so I wouldn't leave again." Draco explains.
"Well, did you get what you wanted? Is everything alright?" I ask hopefully.
Draco looks down. "Yes. As of next school year, you will be attending Hogwarts." He announces.
I'm speechless, he actually did it? But at what cost?
"Draco, you gave up something for me, didn't you?" I carress his cheek softly as he looks up at me. His blue-grey eyes are dim and sad.
"I did it for you, Sasha. I always will." Draco says softly as he holds me again, just like always. He kisses my forehead, and I kiss his cheek.
"Is that my sweater?" Draco asks playfully.
I look around jokingly. "Maybe?" I say and make a run for it.
"I'm coming to getcha!" I squeal and run as Draco chases me down the path. He catches me and stares into my hazel eyes.
"Sasha Natalie Dail-Myers, I love you. I always will and I will always protect you." Draco promises.
I play with his beautiful platinum blonde hair. "And I love you, Draco Lucius Malfoy. I always have, and always will." He kisses me softly, and the blue butterflies start to fly in my stomach.
Draco lets go and admires me once again. "Gosh you are so beautiful," He curls some hair behind my ear as I blush.
"You're not too bad yourself." I retort playfully and Draco chuckles.
When I got home, I was radiating like the sun. "Guess who came back?" I ask happily and my three amazing siblings cheer.
"You look like you again." Diara says as she hugs me. I smile, I felt alive again.
"Thank god, now you can stop being a sad sack." Issac jokes and I punch him playfully in the arm.
"Kids, it's eleven. Shouldn't you head to bed?" Mom asks.
"Oh right. Night guys." I hug Issac and Jenson goodnight and give Mom a huge hug before ascending the staircase. Mom smiles at me.
"I heard that Draco came home. I'm very happy for you, darling. I know how worried you were for him." Mom says.
"Thanks mom. Sleep well." I smile as I head up to the room Diara and I share. Diara's side is still pastel themed, and my side is still water themed. I brush my teeth, change into some warm sweatpants and Draco's sweater, and went under the warm blankets.
I woke up in a white room. It's different than my nightmares, which take place in a dark room that closes in on me until I'm saved. This one was oddly comforting.
Suddenly, strokes of color appear onto the once white walls. I get it now, I think. It's a canvas. Beautiful splashes of blue, yellow, pink, and red dance on the canvas. I smile until I spot something turn black. Intrigued, I step closer and try to touch the paint. The black stays put, but the red around it comes onto my fingers. The black manifests into a symbol with a skull and a snake. The word DEATHEATER appears above it.
"What the?" I ask myself. The pain around the black began to change colors. Within seconds, the vibrant colors change into a picture of Draco, his left sleeve rolled up to show the Deatheater mark.
I scream and sit up. This wasn't just a nightmare, it was a sign.
That's what Draco gave up for me.
A/N: I know I'm leaving you all on a cliffhanger, but it's a good one! Love you all my amazing green apples, and I hope everyone had a great day!!
