Nightmares.
A deep pain rooted in your greatest fears that visit you when you sleep. You toss and turn and scream when you wake up, only to realize that it wasn't real.
Yet, you don't want to close your eyes again for fear that you may see it.
I keep having nightmares of Sasha in the Wizarding World. It's always different, but one of two things happens.
One, she never speaks to me again.
Or two, she dies. I wake up screaming until I realize it's just a dream.
I wonder what Sasha's nightmares are about. I wonder if I'm in them like she is in mine.
Sasha makes me close my eyes as she drives us to the same spot as always.
"Ready?" She asks after she led me to a spot I don't know of yet. I nod. I open my eyes and see it.
"Draco's Point." They renamed this spot, this very spot Sasha and I have always shared. I smile.
"You did this?" I ask her.
"Yeah, and boy was that a process." Sasha brushes the sign with her fingertips. I drape an arm over her shoulder and let Sasha lean onto my shoulder. I close my eyes for a second, embracing the moment.
"Draco?" Sasha asks.
"Hm?"
"What happens now? You know, with magic and stuff." Sasha asks, looking at me now.
I think. "I don't know," I reply truthfully.
"We can't go to Hogwarts because..." Sasha drifts off, and I get the hint. "But if we stay here I'll never learn magic. I guess just stay here." Sasha decides.
"Are you sure?" I ask. "I can go back, it'll just be a process." I offer.
Sasha stays silent. "I'll think about it." She says and walks to the fence that separates us from the shrubs and brush below. She admires the buzzing metropolis that seems so distant from us.
"Sasha?"
"Hm?"
"What are your nightmares?" Random question, I know. But I needed to know, it was the secret to her greatest fears.
Sasha thinks. "I don't know. I usually don't remember them." Sasha says and stares into the distance.
After Sasha went home, I thought about going back to the Wizarding World. I left there because of my fate of becoming a DeathEater and following in the family business. But Sasha needs to learn magic whether she likes it or not. Voldemort will be after her because she's related to All Mightly Pottah.
I sigh, it was a lose-lose situation. I can't go, meaning Sasha never gets to learn how to do magic, and if she goes I'm all alone. No matter what, one of us is going to suffer, and I would rather it be me than anyone else.
I knock on Sasha's door. "Hey." She kisses my cheek softly.
"I need to go out of town for a while." I say, looking down.
Sasha looks confused. "Where are you going?" She asks.
"Back home, to make things right so you can come to Hogwarts." I say, taking her hand in mine. Sasha's eyes brim with tears, but she blinks and they disappear.
"How long will you be gone for?" She asks quietly.
I think. "I..I don't know." I reply sadly. Sasha nods and a small tear escapes her hazel eyes.
"But I'll be back, I promise." I lift her chin to look at me. She nods.
"I'm guessing you leave tonight." Sasha says and I nod. "Please be safe, Draco. Let me know you're okay." I promise Sasha I will be okay, and off I go. Before I leave, I turn around and watch her run back inside. I see the sadness flooding her, and it hurts me too.
But this has to be done. I may come back a different person, but it's all for her. And it always will be.
