This is it.
Everyone arrives today.
I'm excited, nervous, curious, and something else I can't identify.
Draco decided to greet some of his friends when they arrived, so I stayed back and watched everyone flood the building. Draco is walking with Blaise and two boys I don't know. I smile upon seeing them, but then, my gut tells me something is off. The charismatic, kind, charming Draco I fell in love with in Mr. Sander's English class had disappeared. I couldn't tell how, but he did.
A girl wearing the Gryffindor uniform bumps into Draco, and he begins to slur insults at her. My mouth drops open, how could Draco do that, she didn't do anything! Draco and his friends laugh at the girl who runs away, her head in her hands. I stand behind a corner, mortified.
I make my way to the Great Hall, still in shock about what Draco did. He now radiates arrogance and a sense of hierarchy, one that I don't agree with. Snape instructs me to stand by the new students for the sorting ceremony.
"Dail-Myers, Sasha!" Dumbledore says and I make my way to the Sorting Hat.
"Hmmm, definitely a smart one. But very clever. What house would you like to be in?" The hat booms.
"Slytherin," I reply.
"Very well, SLYTHERIN!" I stand up and the Slytherin table cheers loudly. I make my way over to the table and have a seat. Draco beckons me to sit with him, but I shake my head. I turn to a student who I assume is a seventh-year.
"Hi, I'm Sasha." I introduce myself. The girl smiles. She has pretty emerald eyes and blond hair.
"I'm Kylie." She replies, and we begin to chat. I learn that Kylie is a PureBlood with three sisters who have already graduated Hogwarts, and she wants to work for the Ministry of Magic when she graduates.
"Any boys that you find attractive?" She asks, nudging me.
"Well, I've been dating Draco Malfoy for a year and a bit, so I guess him." I laugh a bit and Kylie's eyes grow wide.
"You're the girl he ran away for?!" Kylie asks, astonished. I nod, smiling.
"Oh my god, tell me, is he dreamy? Is he romantic?" Kylie starts firing questions at me, and I answer them all.
"He sounds different than how he is here. Malfoy is extremely arrogant, and he hates Muggles. You're not a Muggle, right?" Kylie asks.
"My mother was Harry Potter's mom, so I don't know what that makes me," Kylie asks me more questions, then points out my first cousin, Harry Potter. He has black hair and shining green eyes.
"Oh cool." Is all I can say before we head back to the Common Room. Everyone chats about their summers, but I stay in my dorm. I knew Draco was out there, and after what he had done to that girl, I wasn't really in the mood to talk to him.
I simply pet my owl, Electra, with her electric blue eyes and midnight blue feathers while reading. I should be social, but I wasn't feeling like it. I kind of wanted to be alone.
Kylie comes into our dorm. "Malfoy wants to talk to you." She says. I nod and head to the empty Common Room.
"Hey," I say and sit on one of the leather couches. Draco looks like, well, the Draco I know.
"Why didn't you sit with me during dinner?" He asks, point-blank.
"Because I wanted to make friends." I lie. I couldn't tell Draco about what I saw, I didn't have enough energy to fight with him.
"You sure?" He asks, and I keep up the lie.
"C'mere." He pulls me closer and lets me rest on his chest. Something about it doesn't feel right anymore.
"Draco?"
"Hm?"
"I saw what happened with the Gryffindor girl." I sit up and look into his blue-grey eyes that aren't the same anymore.
Draco lets out a long exhale. "It's not what you think it is." He starts.
"Ohhh no no no. It's exactly what I saw, Draco. You started hurling insults at the poor girl, who just BUMPED INTO YOU! I mean really, was it that big of a deal?!" I yell, and Draco gets up, matching my height.
"You don't know who I am here," Draco says lowly.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know your location affects your personality." I snap, livid.
"For me, it does." Draco snaps back.
"Oh, so I moved ACROSS THE COUNTRY, AWAY FROM MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR YOU, JUST SO YOU CAN ACT LIKE A COMPLETE UTTER..." I don't finish, it isn't worth it. "You know what, you're not worth my energy. Goodnight, Malfoy." And away I walk, feeling like a new person.
This will be an interesting year.
A/N: ... Anyways I was going to say thank you for 500 but not its thank you for almost 575!!! I honestly can't believe it, it's a dream come true. Hope everyone is doing well, and I will see you tomorrow!
