Labor Day.

No school.

I could get used to this.

I Facetime Sasha first thing in the morning, and she answers within seconds.

"Morning." She's up and I know she's at her desk by the view of her room.

"You were just waiting for me to call, weren't you?" I smirk.

"Oh please." Sasha rolls her beautiful hazel eyes and I laugh.

"Whatcha doing?" I ask as Sasha types away.

"Work." She says, clicking more keys.

"Boring. Where's the Sasha from Saturday night?" I ask playfully.

"She's working." Sasha focuses on her computer.

"Maybe we can work together?" I offer. A scream comes from Sasha's house.

"If you're okay with my brother's friends being here, then sure." Sasha rolls her eyes.

"How about you come here?" I offer.

"See you in about five minutes." Sasha hangs up and I change into some clothes. A knock comes at the door.

"That was fast." I smile as she quickly kisses me. Sasha's wearing a white Vans hoodie with ripped jeans and high top sneakers. We walk up to my room and start working.

"I'm already bored." I groan after only twenty minutes. Sasha looks at me with fake annoyance.

"Should have known." She smirks and I laugh. I sit next to her on the couch and rest on her shoulder. She's writing an English essay about character representation.

"Why are you so focused on school?" I ask curiously. Sasha closes her laptop, and I notice that pictures of the two of us are on her laptop cover.

"I can't afford college without a scholarship. So, I have to find some way to go to college." Sasha explains sadly.

"I'm sorry. You don't deserve this life, you deserve everything and more." I say, holding her close.

"Draco?"

"Yes, love?

"Last night...I had a dream. You...you left me. You never came back." Sasha went silent.

"I'll always be right here," I say softly, kissing her forehead.

Here's the thing: I don't know if that statement is true. If Father comes back, I would probably be gone forever, and Sasha really would never see me again.

But, it's September. I left in June. How has he not found me?

Sasha and I (finally) managed to get some work done before inviting Diara and Cameron to hang out at my place. Cameron and I played video games, and the girls chatted in low, soft voices.

"You really have depression?" Diara whispers.

"Yeah. It's hard, Di. I knew I had anxiety, but now depression? I'm literally the happiest person you know!" Sasha falls onto my bed.

"I know, maybe it was a mistake. What about Jenson?" She asks, and Cameron and I join the conversation.

"Hello, ladies." I pick up Sasha, making her squeal, and place her on my lap. Cameron squeezes into Diara's chair.

"Look who crashed the party." Diara jokes and Sasha laughs.

"Girls, we're bored." Cameron sighs and hugs Diara. Sasha looks at Diara with a mischievous smile etched on her lips.

"We have something to do." Sasha pipes up.

"Follow us." Diara takes Cameron's hand, and Sasha takes mine. We walk outside, and faster than lighting, the refreshing pool water prickles my skin.

"GOTCHA!" Diara and Sasha high-five, then run inside. They come out carrying towels and wearing bathing suits. Sasha is wearing a purple one-piece, while Diara opted for a black one-piece. The two jump in, splashing me and Cameron.

"Really ladies?" Cameron asks and the girls laugh. Sasha swims over to me, and I drape my arms over her shoulders. A flash of pink walks by my house.

"Hakeema." Diara whispers. Sasha sees for herself.

"With my brother." She seethes, her body fuming.

"Are they doing anything?" I ask.

"Not that I see. Jenson is walking Seth, and Hakeema is just, there." Suddenly, Seth breaks free from Jenson's loose grip on his leash and begins to jump on Hakeema. He bites at her pink hair.

"EW GET OFF OF ME!" She screams as Jenson does nothing. Hakeem runs and Seth lays down on the concrete. We erupt in laughter.

"That was the best thing I've seen in a long time!" Diara laughs, emphasizing the "long". We all hop out of the pool, drying off. We were all chatting when Sasha went pale. In the yard next to us, a couple held hands with a small girl who had Sasha's eyes, and a baby boy who had Jenson's rustic blond hair.

"That's Sasha's parents." Diara whispers, in shock.

I've never heard Sasha cry so loud.

I've never seen her this heartbroken.
