Sasha and I were supposed to walk to school today, but she never came. I tried calling her and texting her, but she never answered. I decided to walk on my own and meet her there. When I got to school, boys were crowing around Sasha talking to her. Diara makes her way to her locker and I pull her aside.
"What is Sasha doing with those guys?" I seeth.
"Woah dude, chill. Those are her brother's friends and their brothers. You seriously need to chill, Draco." I let go of Diara's wrist and walk to my first class. The boys form a wall around Sasha when I walk by.
"You guys are so extra." Sasha pushes past the boys and walks to her first class, not even looking me in the eye. She talks to Mr. Sanders and he lets her sit in the front. Diara hands something to Sasha and leaves.
"Now class we will begin our Equality in Reading unit." I zone out as Mr. Sanders begins a lecture. I watch as Sasha pipes up for some questions and some of the boys from earlier are staring at her too much for my taste.
Okay, I know we aren't really dating, but I am taking her to the Homecoming.
After class, Sasha once again doesn't make eye contact with me and meets up with some other friends, girls this time. Since most of them are on the swim team, they all walk out of the building to a coffee shop.
Okay, I know this is a horrible idea, but I really wanted to follow Sasha. I snuck out of school and followed Sasha. Today her hair was flowing in the wind, and she was wearing ripped jeans with a tied white shirt. She laughs as her friends make some comments. They go inside the store and don't come out for a bit. I dash behind a bush and watch as they all come out. The girls sit at a table right by me.
"So you and the new kid?" One girl asks as she pokes Sasha.
"It's not official, but he asked me to Homecoming. He's so cliche, but I love it. We talk every night until like 1 A.M. One downside is he always calls when he's bored like I'm just some pastime." I recognize Diara's deep blonde hair and icy blue eyes, but I couldn't fully see her.
"I heard that he's never had a girlfriend before, but that girls used to fawn all over him back at his old school." Diara pipes up, and Sasha pops a nut into her mouth.
"Huh. Interesting." Was all Sasha said.
"Um, Sasha, he was super protective of you when you were hanging out with Jenson's friends. He was all like 'who are they?!'" Diara says and Sasha groans.
"And there's another one. I HATE overprotective guys." Sasha sips her drink as everyone else agrees with her.
"Have you guys gone on any dates?" Another girl asks.
"One but I don't know if it was or not. We are supposed to go on one tonight, but I don't know where we stand, you know?" She gets a unison of nods in reply.
"You should go, Sash. I think he wants to apologize." Diara seems to have spotted me, but she's keeping her mouth shut. I smile and walk back to school. No one had caught me.
After school, I rush to find Sasha. I ask Diara and she leads me to the library. Sasha is finishing up a lecture in the library and everyone begins to file out. I spot Jenson talking to Sasha, and he hugs her as they go their separate ways.
"Sasha," I call out, and she turns around. She motions for me to follow her and I do. We exit the building and we start to walk home.
"I'm not willing to be some pastime, Draco." Sasha starts.
"I know, and that's not what I meant. I meant that I love spending time with you so I called you so we could hang out." I explain. Sasha mulls it over for about a block or so, but when she reaches my house, she pecks me on the cheek.
"5:45, don't be late." And off she went.
