Draco has been gone for two weeks.
That's right, a full two weeks. I haven't seen him once. According to Theo, he comes back around 2 in the morning and leaves by 5 in the morning, which is when I'm fast asleep and nothing could wake me up. What hurts me the most is that Draco doesn't seem to be thinking about me. Theo sees Draco every afternoon and returns to sleep. I ask him every day if Draco has said anything about me. He's always said no.
"Don't worry, Sasha. He's been swamped, and I'm sure he will come back soon," Theo tells me every night. I simply nod, believing it less and less every day.
Blaise, Kylie, Theo, and even Pansy have been hanging out with me a lot, trying to keep my mind off of Draco. It's been working.
Sometimes.
I walk with Blaise and Kylie back to the Common Room when Hermione beckons me over with some urgency.
"I'll meet you guys there, alright? I'll be a minute," I tell them, and they both nod, carrying on with their conversation as I walk to Hermione.
"Hey," I give her a small hug.
"Are you alright? You've been so down lately," Hermione asks me as we walk to the library.
"Meh," I shrug. "Draco's been gone for two weeks and hasn't sent a message for me once," I look down at my black Uggs.
Hermione places a hand on my back sympathetically. "I'm sure everything between you two are going to turn out alright," She says sweetly.
"Thanks, 'Mione. Oh by the way," I reach into my messenger bag and hand Hermione a letter from my father. "Can you give this to Harry? I haven't seen him today and I need his opinion on something. Have him owl me his thoughts," I say.
"Of course. Feel better," I part ways and head to the Common Room. Everyone is talking and Blaise waves me over. I smile and sit next to my friends.
"Everything alright with Granger?" Kylie asks.
"Yeah, she was worried about me actually," Blaise shakes his head.
"Only we are allowed to worry about you," He jokes and I laugh.
"Oh, that reminds me, I'm seeing Cameron and Diara again this weekend. Anyone want to tag along?" Blaise happily agrees on behalf of himself and Theo. Kylie is tutoring some first years, and Pansy politely passes.
"Sounds good," We talk for a few more minutes before everyone splits up. I head to my and Draco's dorm. Every time I enter, I feel a wave of sadness splash over me, making me remember that Draco won't return tonight. I hear someone stomp up the stairs and knock on my door.
Maybe it's Draco, I think happily. I run to open the door, but it's just Theo.
"Malfoy says he's going to come in an hour to watch movies with you," Theo says and I thank him before shutting the door. I clean up my clothes and change into some comfortable clothes, eagerly sitting on the bed.
And wait.
And wait.
And waiting some more.
By 11, I gave up on Draco coming back and held in the hurt. I tried not to cry, I tried to put myself in his shoes, but it resulted in me burying myself under the blankets, softly crying.
"Sasha?" Blaise asks outside. I wipe my eyes and emerge from my safety blanket.
"Yeah?" I ask, opening the door.
"Hey, it's alright," Blaise pulls me in for a hug and I bite my cheek to keep me from crying.
"Come hang out with Crabbe, Goyle, and I. They're actually a lot of fun. It'll make you feel better, I promise," Blaise reaches his hand out, and I take it.
