"Tell me something about you," Draco says. We were sitting on a picnic blanket at the Griffith Observatory, the metropolitan lights dancing in the distance. Draco's arm is wrapped around me, the best feeling in the world.
"My favorite colors are green and purple," I say, which was the first thing that came to mind. "Your turn." I stare at Draco, his amazing eyes still visible in the night's darkness.
"My favorite food is green apples." I chuckle at that one.
"I am deathly afraid of snakes," I confess.
"I love you," Draco smirks.
"Yes, I know you big softie." I kiss him quickly. He smiles.
We just sat together, talking about anything and everything. I let Draco wrap me in his arms, a shield protecting me from the horrid outside world.
"Sasha?" He whispers.
"Yeah?" I ask, my eyes closed.
"Will you be okay?" I knew he was referring to my depression.
"I'm strong, Draco. I'll be fine." I say, and Draco kisses my hair. Then, to my surprise, he begins to hum.
It was a soft, low song with a pretty melody. We both lay down, my head on his stomach lightly. I keep my eyes closed, and listen to Draco's humming.
"Sasha." He whispers.
"Hm?" I sit up, and I realized I had fallen asleep.
"Let's do something fun." He says as I fold the blanket and toss it in his car.
"Elaborate." I rub my eyes.
"Let's crash Hakeema's party." He smirks.
"Are you insane?! She would kill me!" I protest.
"It'll be fun, come on. Please?" He leans in closer, making us only inches apart.
To be perfectly honest, it wasn't because of Hakeema. I would be perfectly willing to stick it to her pink-haired ass. She annoyed me so much and I loved poking at her. It was my anxiety. Every human has fight or flight instincts.
Except me.
But for once, I didn't care.
"I'd thought you'd never ask," I smirk, clearly he didn't know me well. I opened my duffle, and a bomb outfit was ready to go. A white shirt with open shoulders and a flowy black shirt with big heels.
"How.." Draco starts.
"This isn't my first time crashing a party." I wink as we make our way to Hakeema's house. I manage to change in an unlocked house that was for sale. I did some dark red lips and mascara. I was ready.
For once, I am in control.
Draco and I walk into the party like the badass king and queen we are. I got plenty of stares from guys, and I felt Draco get tense and territorial.
"They wouldn't dare make a move," I whisper and he nods reluctantly.
I spot Hakeema's pink hair, and a part of me hides away.
But the other part is ready to fight.
I spot some old friends and they are shocked that I made it in. My friend Taylor in particular. She had blue hair, always has, ever since middle school, that matches her deep blue eyes.
"KiKi's gonna flip!" She exclaims.
"That's the point, Tay Tay," I smirk.
"I heard you're taken. Who's the lucky guy?" She asks and I nod towards Draco. Mitch had somehow gotten into the party and the two were hitting it off.
"Ohhh, Malfoy? That's absolutely adorable!" Taylor squeals.
"I know. And the night's about to get better." I nod towards Hakeema.
"What are YOU doing here?!" Hakeema sneers.
"Enjoying a party. Weird, I haven't seen you all night. How's your bedroom? How many guys are up there?" I retort, and the room gets quiet.
"How many anxiety pills are you taking?" She snaps.
"None actually." I snip and she's shocked. I haven't taken any for the past day or two.
"Last time I heard, you had a meltdown playing Laser Tag like a baby." She made a pouty face as everyone laughed.
"Last time I checked, you had a boyfriend AND a body count of...I think it was twenty? But after tonight I'm going to guess forty. Am I in the ballpark?" I ask, and I feel all this power. The crowd that formed around us went wild. I watched as Draco stood, mouth open.
"You're just jealous of me," Hakeema spit.
"Why would I be jealous of you? I have everything you have times ten. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were jealous of me. Oh wait, I do know better. You are jealous of me!" I snap.
"Please, how would I be jealous of you?" Hakeema sneers.
"Let's make a list. My looks, my great grades, my popularity without being an asshole, amazing boyfriend," I look at Draco for that one. "And let's not forget that I don't cheat on my boyfriend with more than one guy." I finish.
"I know things that people in this room.." Hakeema starts.
"Already know? Face it, Hakeema, you're old news. No one cares, so just go back to your boyfriend, who, if I can see correctly, is making out with a freshman." Hakeema snaps her head towards him and runs to beat up the girl. The crowd cheers and I make a small bow, making some in the crowd laugh.
Draco takes my hand and the two of us walk out to his car.
"That was amazing. I like this Sasha." I did a little twirl and Draco chuckles.
"That felt so good, you have no idea." I laugh as we drive home. Jenson calls, and I put it on speaker.
"Hey Jay Jay, you're on speaker!" I say as I answer the phone.
"Sasha I am so proud of you. Some kid recorded your whole showdown with KiKi, and you annihilated her! I couldn't have taught you better!" I laugh and felt Jay Jay's love through the phone. Dad would have been proud. Mom would have been proud, but still grounded me.
But they weren't here.
But Jenson and Draco were.
For the first time, that was enough for me.
