Swim practice really sucked.
The seniors didn't want to listen to a "lower classman", and Coach Taylor didn't even come to practice today. It was a mess.
I was excited to go to Draco's house, though.
I walk over with my old textbook in hand. I spot his house, nice white paint, and a few windows open to let in the later summer breeze. I knock, and Draco answers. He's in a sports jersey with dark jeans.
"Hi!" I chirp.
"Hey, come on in." He lets me inside and closes the door. The inside was simply decorated with a few paintings and some nice couches.
"We can work in my room if you want." Draco offers.
"Sure," I reply as I follow him up the stairs. He opens a set of double doors to reveal his room. Like any teenage boy, he has a PS4, but unlike a normal boy, he has a whole lounge for himself. Draco has lots of books and evergreen curtains.
"Nice," I sit on a couch and open up my textbook. A stack of flashcards neatly held together by a paper clip falls onto the floor. I pick them up and take out the paperclip.
"Okay, first question: How are a baby's genes decided?" I quiz Draco.
He sits back. "By dominant and recessive genes. The more dominant genes, the more of that trait." He answers and I nod.
"Ugh, do we have to study?" Draco groans as I flip to the next flashcard.
"We just started, Draco. How are you already distracted?" I ask, pretending to be irritated.
"Well, you're too pretty for me to study." Draco winks, and I start blushing.
"You're adorable, but let's study," I reply, and Draco groans.
"Can we watch TV or something first pleaaasssseee?" He makes puppy eyes.
"Fine." He smiles and turns on the TV and flips through channels. I make myself comfortable on the couch as Draco eventually picks a movie that I don't know of. He scoots closer to me and wraps an arm around me.
Oh wow, assertive. I lean on his shoulder as we keep watching the movie. About thirty minutes in, I pause the movie.
"Come on we have to study." I turn it off and flip a few flashcards to find a harder question.
"Leave the flashcards and I'll study later." Draco flops face forward onto his bed. I chuckle and leave the flashcards on his table. I walk to the door.
"Where are you going?" He asks.
"Well if we aren't going to study I should probably go home," I reply. I open the door but Draco grabs my hand.
"No don't go yet," Draco says with his puppy eyes again.
"Fine." I kiss him quickly and sit on his chair by his desk. His desk was a bit messy and was a dark, mossy color. Draco takes my hand and we walk out of his room together.
"Where are we going?" I ask as we run outside. Before I can answer, Draco quickly pushes me into his pool, the warm water prickling my skin. I run out and chase Draco to try and shove him back. Lucky for me, he trips over a fallen branch and falls into the pool.
"Victory is mine!" I cheer happily and jump into the pool again. Draco swims over to me. I splash him playfully and he looks at me.
"Don't start something you can't finish, Myers," Draco warns. I splash him again, but he retaliates with a harder splash. The air becomes cooler as we keep splashing each other. I try to duck and dive, but Draco's splashes are fast and powerful. I step out of the pool, and the evening air hits me hard. I shiver as Draco gets us towels.
"Thanks." I wrap myself quickly and sit on the soft grass.
"That was fun." Draco comments and sits next to me.
"For you." I retort. I shiver once again. When did August nights get so cold?
"I'm gonna head home." I stand up and wrap myself in the towel. Draco nods and I walk back home. Jenson's not home, but he was kind enough to leave a note.
Meeting with a social worker. Left you some food.
He had, in fact, left me food. Chinese takeout to be exact. I smile and shower again to warm up. I turn on the TV and have dinner. Diara texts me a couple of times asking me about dresses. Draco snaps me as I make my way to my room.
"Don't be mad that I beat you ;)" He says. I roll my eyes and decide to not respond. I pop in some earbuds and turn on a playlist of music as I read on my bed. At around 11, my phone rings. Draco's calling.
"Hey," I answer, disconnecting my earbuds and bookmarking my page.
"I'm bored." Draco complains.
"So go do something. I'm not around so you can call me up when you're bored." I snap.
"Sasha chill, I didn't mean it like that. I..well I wanted to...okay there isn't a great way to say this.." Draco realizes his mistake.
"Well I have work to do that I've been pushing off." I hang up and finish my homework and get to bed. Draco called me about four more times, but I never answered. I went to bed, taking melatonin to calm my mind down.
