It's been a full week since Sasha broke up with me because of Hakeema. She didn't even let me explain what happened. Hakeema just came into my house and pinned me against a wall. That's it!
If she wants to be like that, then I will too.
We haven't talked since, and I haven't seen her around school at all. Even in the classes we share, she doesn't talk to me or asked to move seats. She seems, well, normal.
But different.
She hangs around with those boys a lot now, constantly sitting with them and talking to them. I just stare at her, tears threatening to spill out of my eyes like a flowing river.
"Draco, you okay?" Diara asks kindly as she pulls out a cookie from her backpack.
"Fine," I mutter, and Diara gives me a look.
"I'm fine, I swear," I say defensively and take my eyes off of Sasha.
"I know you miss her, so why don't you talk to her?" Diara suggests.
"I've tried, she never sticks around long enough to listen," I say sadly. Diara looks down sadly. Cameron has an arm on my shoulder.
"She'll come around," Cameron assures me. Sasha laughs at the table by us, and I try hard not to cover my ears. It hurt me how she laughed and it wasn't me who was making her laugh.
After school, I simply sat downstairs, hoping Sasha would run past my house just to get a glimpse of her. She does.
I watch her jog in a white shirt and grey leggings that hug her perfect frame. Her light brown hair with her flawless blonde highlights is out of her face in a tight updo. Sasha runs pretty fast but stops when she reaches my house. She stays there for a while like she's thinking about whether to knock.
Please knock, please knock, please knock, I think. Sasha takes a deep breath and approaches the door. She knocks once.
I jump out of my seat and run to the door. "Uh, hey. Wasn't expecting you." I say, trying not to sound too keen.
"Hey." She says, blushing. Wow, that was fast. Not every a full minute and I'm already melting back into her heart.
"I think we need to talk," Sasha says. I nod and let her in.
"I think you owe me an explanation as to why you ran off when I said I was a Pureblood." Sasha starts. I nod.
"I needed time to process it," I explain.
"With Hakeema?" Sasha snaps. Good point.
"She just came inside and shoved me against the wall. I swear I wouldn't do that to you." I take Sasha's hand in mine, and she lets it stay there.
"Draco, I want to believe you, I really do. But it's hard to." Sasha looks up and blinks to keep from crying.
"Please Sasha, I promise it wasn't my choice," I say softly and take her chin in my hand. Sasha smiles a bit.
"Okay." She says meekly and I smile brightly. I pull her into my open arms and kiss her forehead.
"I love you," I say softly.
"I love you more." I flush a deep red.
Sasha sighs and leans on my shoulder. "I haven't slept in days. All I've been thinking about is what I've found. And you, of course." Sasha says softly like she's going to fall asleep now.
"Couldn't keep your mind off of me, huh?" I joke and Sasha playfully hits my chest.
"Yes, but it was more than that. I kept trying to figure out why you left home. You had a pretty good life, Draco. Affulent, with a successful family, good grades, a Pureblood. But you threw it all away and came here. Why?" She asks.
I sigh. "Things aren't as perfect as they appear, Sasha. The world isn't as simple and beautiful as you make it seem." I say absentmindedly.
"Believe me I know." Sasha smirks and I nod. We stay silent for a moment.
"There's this story my brother and I used to read. It reminds me of you." Sasha says quietly. I look at her.
"Oh yeah?" I say.
"It's about a boy who fell from the stars. He had hair the same color as the white, glowing stars, and twilight eyes. He saved a family from turmoil and heartbreak. Jenson used to promise me that something like that would happen. And it did, you came here." Sasha smiles, happy tears in her eyes.
"And I'm not going anywhere." I whisper softly and watch as Sasha's eyes flutter shut from exhaustion.
Sleep well, Sasha. I hope you can sleep well knowing how much I love you, and how this will never change.
