Daniel's POV:

We have been driving for a few hours and it was about 1 am. Everyone besides Sofia and I fell asleep in the back, leaving us alone to talk.

"So, you have powers just like us?" I asked her, as she drove down a backroad.

"Yup." she said quickly.

"Where you struck by lightning?" I asked again trying to make conversation which I wasn't really good at.

"Yeah, when I was 7. I was at a family gathering and then a storm came. The rest is pretty self explanatory." Sofia explained to me, pulling the car over to take a break for the night.

"Oh, that must have been hard at such a young age." I said quietly facing her.

"Yeah. After I found out what I could do I ran away from home. Been on my own ever since." Sofia said quietly playing with a lock of her hair.

Her hair looked so soft as it sparkled in the moonlight. God, she was pretty.

"Wow, I can kinda of imagine what you went through. My parents threw me out at a young age because they didn't like my passions and that type of stuff." I explained.

"Really? What do you do?" she asked me as she looked into my blue eyes with her brown ones.

"'Music. My parents wanted me to do something more important in life, but I can't see myself doing anything else." I say thinking back to the day my parents kicked me out.

**Flashback**

"Mom, dad I know what I want to do with my future." I say to my parents with a smile on my face, walking into the kitchen.

"Great, what is it? Teaching? Doctor? Lawyer?" my dad listed off options.

"No.... I want to make music. Sing." I said as I looked at both of my parents faces drop.

"What?" my mom said as she slowly stood up from the seat she was in.

"I want to be a singer." I said again quieter then the first time.

"Your going to waist your life on that crap?" my dad said raising his voice a little bit.

"I mean, it's something I'm passionate about." I said trying to defend myself, but I knew this wasn't going to work.

"No, it's just a waist of your life. You will never make it." my dad chuckled, "you probably can't even sing."

"I can actually." I said getting even more quiet looking down at the floor.

"Bullshit. You are not singing. Do something important." my mom said to me glaring.

"No, this is what I want to do. This is my life." I say to them, making them both frown at me making them angry.

"No you listen here Daniel. You will not ever be a singer in your life because you need to get good money and the perfect life. Doing that will throw your life down the drain. You don't have a choice." my dad raised his voice very loud at me.

I saw my siblings, Anna, Christian, and Tyler, were all now downstairs watching us argue. I felt myself only wanting to disappear and to not be seen. I don't want to be here right now

"Shouldn't I get-" I started but was cut off.

"-no. You listen to what we say because you are under our roof. Once you are out of here go ahead follow your little music fantasy, but don't ever come back here." my mom said to me, making me feel small and fragile.
