039; get a room

Alexa's POV:

We finally arrived at the gas station after a good long hour walk. My legs hurt, felt as if they were burning on fire. I cant imagine how they will feel when we continue.

"I don't think we should split up again, not after last time." Gabbie mentions as she stands next to Jack, hand in hand, with her head leaning against his good shoulder.

"I can make them hallucinate, make people believe we aren't really there." Jack suggests looking around at everyone for approval.

"Sure, it's the best we got." Sofia sighs as we walk up to the gas station.

Jack let's out a deep breath before closing his eyes, only for them to reopen as the purple color we all love. He focuses on the only person in the store, cashier, at this early hour and walks in.

"So he can't see us?" I ask Jack as I walk up to the front with him.

"Yeah, but he can probably hear us, so shhh." Jack says to all of us as we all nod and spread out to get the supplies we need for the rest of our trip.

Tate and I focused on getting clothing, since we didn't have anything to change into. We grabbed multiple shirts and hoodies. A few pants here and there, placing them into multiple backpacks we picked up from a different isle.

Jack, Gabbie, and Daniel got the food. The piled up the bag with packaged food that we could snack on until we could maybe get a proper meal in a few days. After they filled up two bags of snacks they zipped it up and headed to the front.

Corbyn, Christina, and Sofia got the water and sleeping supplies. We already had sleeping bags and blankets but we needed some bags to carry them, so they grabbed an extra few. As well as that, they filled up to bags of water and some energy drinks so we could have a small variety to choose from.

"Everyone ready?" Corbyn whispers as we all made it to the front of the store and nodded. We stepped out, slowly closing the doors behind us, and Jacks eyes went back to brown meaning his hallucination was done.

"Should we sort everything?" Gabbie asked as we set down all the bags and looked at what we had.

"Well we have eight bags in total, one for each of us. I'll think we should be fine." Sofia shrugged picking up one of the water bags.

"So where from here?" Gabbie questioned picking up one of the clothing bags.

"Prism Lake. I grabbed a map while we were in there so we know where we are going." Sofia held it up to show everyone.

"Cool, let's get going." I state starting off in front of everyone.

We need to get there as fast as possible because who knows what is happening with Jonah and Zach. Of course we know they are alive but they lost hope in us, which is heartbreaking.

"It's official, I hate walking." I groan as my legs drag across the ground ready to give up.

So far we made progress, since we have been walking for maybe 2 hours straight.

"Can we please take a break." Tate said before falling to the ground without receiving an answer from everybody.

"One of you has got to have a power to fix the pain in my back." Gabbie sighed as she laid down in Jack's lap who also took a seat on the ground.

"Jonah does." Tate sighs before looking at everyone who's faces were now covered with sadness, "Sorry."

"I think we can take a break for like 30 minutes." Sofia said as she slid down against a tree.

"I'm bored." Corbyn said as he stayed standing and kept flying up and spinning in the air.

"Your bored? Dude, you have powers. IM BORED!" Tate yelled as Corbyn laughed at her, continuing his flips in the air.

"But to get them I had to get struck by lightning." Corbyn mentioned.

"True. Oh my god, remember when you couldn't remember Chris's name." Tate said bringing a memory.

"I do! Bub you were so sad." Christina laughed while trying to show sympathy for her boyfriend.

"Of course I was sad, I couldn't remember my beautiful girlfriends name." Corbyn smiled as he walked over to her and pecked her on the lips.

"Get a room." Daniel yells as we snuggled up against Sofia.

"Oh really, you wanna talk about that. Okay, what's going on between you and Sof." Corbyn raised his eyebrow at him.

"Ten bucks they kiss within the next ten minutes." I whisper to Tate who nods.

"Bet."

"There's nothing going on." Sofia says as she looks at Daniel in his ocean blue eyes.

"Yeah, no way that's true." Corbyn said as he read both of their minds.

"Well your not the one with lie detection." Sofia smirked at Corbyn who rolled his eyes.

"You guys will probably be dating by the end of all of this." Jack states, before moving his shoulder and wincing.

"Should we change the bandage on that." Gabbie said looking over at his shoulder.

"Probably, get the kit we got from the cop car." Sofia said as she headed over to Jack and he carefully removed the sling his arm was in.

Gabbie went over at got a kit opening it to reveal brand new bandages. She headed over at Jack and pulled some out.

"This might hurt a little bit." Sofia said as she went in to pulled the bandages off. Jack groaned a few times but he was okay.

The bandage was removed and revealed a gunshot that had stitches in it. There was a little bit of dried blood around it but from the looks of it, it seemed okay.

"Okay, Gabs pass me a bandage." Sofia said putting her hand out as Gabbie placed new bandages in it.

Sofia gently wrapped the bandage around his shoulder, making it secure and finishing it off with some surgical tape.

She helped Jack put the sling back on and his bandage looked brand new again.

"We should probably switch it out twice a day. At the least once, we don't want it to get infected." Sofia said as she cleaned up the mess.

"I'm proud of you babe." Gabbie smiled as she sat back down next to him.

"I love you." Jack smiled and pecked her lips.

"I want to do that to Zach, so bad. Just a small little peck." I complain as I watch everyone with their couples.

"Felt that and you owe me ten bucks." Tate smiled as she pointed over at Sofia and Daniel who have still not kissed.

"I don't even have ten dollars on me at the moment." I laugh.

"Well, when this is all over I except ten dollars from the Alexa Haken." Tate said in a serious tone.

"Yes ma'am." I playfully rolled my eyes.

"Should we get going again?" Christina asked.

"Yup." Jack said standing up with the help of Gabbie.

"Let's go!" Corbyn said flying off into the distance.

"I'm jealous." I sigh as he effortlessly flies up and down.

"Tell me about it." Christina said as she walked next to me.
