Zach's POV: (from last chapter)
They took me out of our room again to go into questioning. It's something I'm used to, happens once everyday, but it gets annoying. I mean they do know we aren't going to tell them anything. Right?
As I walk down the hall with Thomas and two guards, just in case I try something, I get led to a room I'm not familiar with.
Usually every time I get brought into this questioning, it's the same room as the last. This time it was a room I have never seen before.
In the center was a seat that resembled one you would see in a dentist place. There was this one door and two large windows opposite of the door. Behind the chair was a table filled with tools, like needles.
This isn't going to be good, is it.
"Take a seat Zach." Thomas said to me as he pushed me into the room and I stumbled forwards. The door closed behind us and the two guards stood next to it, blocking my way out.
I sighed and walked over to the chair, sitting down in it like he commanded me too. I found it was just better to cooperate with what he told me to do.
Well everything besides telling him information.
Obviously.
"Okay Zach today we are going to approach things a little differently." Thomas said walking behind the chair and playing with the tools on the table.
"You mean you're going to accept that you're never going to get information from us?" I ask and I can basically imagine the roll of the eyes on his face.
"No, I'm going to try a new method." he says with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Well whatever you're going to do, it's not going to work. Your half ass crew here will never figure anything out and there is no way Jonah and I will tell you anything." I state sternly.
"We will see about that." Thomas says before he comes into view holding a needle filled with a silver liquid.
"What's that?" I ask as I realize what he's about to do, "And I vote for you not to inject me with that."
"Zach, it's only a bit of truth serum. You're not scared of that are you?" Thomas eyed me and watched my raw reaction of the needle.
"What? Me, never." I gulp and watch and the needle comes closer to me neck. I inch away from it and soon ran out of room in my chair to scoot away.
"Zach just stay still, it won't hurt one bit." Thomas says grabbing my jaw and turning my head so he had a clear view of my neck.
"You sure because that is sliver, which isn't natural-" I ramble but I was cut off by a burning sensation in my neck making my throat close up.
I cough and hold my throat as I look over at Thomas holding a needle but there isn't any liquid in it anymore.
He moves back behind and and hands me a cotton ball to stop the bleeding out of the small hole in my neck now.
"Okay Zach, you might feel a little loopy but that's all part of the substances side effects." Thomas stated sitting down in a chair that I didn't remember seeing and he watched as I reacted to the serum.
At first it was just the burning, which went away in about a minute. My throat opened up again, allowing me to get a good breath of air. Although with every breath I took I could feel my brain getting cloudy.
Like every worry, struggle, and piece of sadness inside of me just floated away. My mind was completely blank. And when I say completely blank, I mean completely blank.
