(A/N- so her background is going to be VERY similar to my life story that I told you guys in the beginning- god I'm so original- but there are some big changes in this story compared to my own story.)

María was about 6 when she was put up for adoption by her mother, Luisa. María was close with her Luisa, and Luisa adored her daughter.

The reason why Luisa couldn't keep her daughter compiled of many things. Luisa was poor, she had just lost her job, and María's father (we don't speak his name) had left Luisa when María was 7 months old.

But the main issue... was Antonio. Antonio was Luisa's "boyfriend." Antonio went on a few dates with Luisa before eagerly involving himself in everything Luisa did. Luisa was okay with Antonio until his behavior changed drastically, he was a jealous man. He would start saying things to Luisa that implied she get rid of María. After finally saying that she wouldn't give up María, Antonio snapped. Antonio tried to manipulate Luisa. Luisa was done with his behavior and left Antonio. Antonio wouldn't let her leave, he then became physically abusive towards Luisa and even threatening María's safety. This abuse went on for weeks, that was until Luisa fled with María.

(A/N- there is so much more I could include in that background story, but I don't want to ramble. We start the actual story NEXT CHAPTER! I'm so ready to begin the real writing. Oh and just so you guys know, NO these events didn't happen to me. As far as I know, my father left my mom pregnant and she gave me up for adoption because she couldn't keep me, there was no Antonio person.)

(A/N- Oh! I almost forgot to mention why the backstory was so important to the main plot. María is in some ways (somewhat subconsciously) affected by her past (in good ways and bad ways). She has always had a hatred and fear for people like the men in her birth mother's life. But you can start on ~Sunrise~(Part I) if you like. -Oh, in the story the A/N will be in bold letters from now on!-Anyways Love you guys so much! ❤️)

(The backstory chapters will have Spanish dialogue, but the real chapters will not, it will 98% be English dialogue.)
