"Wowwwwwww" Max gasped in awe as he cuddled up in his grandpas side, dressed in his train pyjamas. His sister however was not so amused, tucking her head into Jugheads chest "Too scawwy"

"No I wanna hear more! Did grandma get out of the howwible place?" Max asked bouncing on his knee excitedly. Jughead chuckled holding Ella tight, kissing her head "It's okay honey we're all safe now"

"I made cookies!" Betty announced as she entered the room with a plate of her fresh chocolate chip cookies. "El? You want one?" she asked gently as Max took two immediately. She watched as the little girl shook her head still hiding in Jughead's chest.

"You told them another story didn't you? Juggie they're too young for our scarring past" she sighed, carefully passing Ella one. Jughead chuckled with an apologetic smile "Max wanted to hear it, I didn't tell them everything!"

"I don't care, their kids. Tell them fairy and ogre stories, not ones about our horrific teenage life. You're going to traumatize them and then Juliet won't let us babysit anymore" she warned, shaking her head at him.

"Okay love" he grinned taking a cookie for himself as she sat on the floor playing with Max. Their daughter worked a lot and struggled to afford childcare since her boyfriend left, so of course Betty and Jughead offered to take care of them. They loved their grandkids and would do anything for their daughter, proud of her for coping as a single mum.

"Can we have Pop's for dinner!" Max asked his grandma, showing her his new train set. "Honey you've only just finished your cookies" she laughed. He whined and put on his infamous pouty face that won anyone over.

"He's got Jones blood in him Betts, you should know we have big appetites" Jughead chuckled, ruffling the little boys hair. "You look just like your great grandpa when he was younger"

"Tell me about him again!" Max pleaded, only having met him a few times when he was younger before the old man passed away. Jughead always made sure FP was remembered, he had helped him and Betty more than they could ever ask for. He may not have been a perfect dad but he certainly made up for that when Juliet was born and Jughead loved seeing them interact.

Betty gave him a sad smile, kissing his cheek as he explained to Max another story about FP. "Did he have a motorbike too?" Ella asked, climbing into Betty's lap. "Yeah he did, he got me my first one when I was 18"

"Oo can I get one?" Max asked sticking his hand in the air like he'd been taught to do in class. "I want one too!" Ella pleaded, clapping her hands excitedly.

"That's something you have to ask your mum, now who wants to go to the park?" Betty asked, wanting to tire them out before bed. And so the four of them strolled to the local park together, the kids running over to the slide almost straight away.

"I love watching them grow up, they both remind me so much of Jules" Betty whispered as she tucked herself into her husbands chest, sitting on the bench. The couple were considered a miracle, years of marriage and they were still as in love as they were as naïve teenagers. They had two children, Juliet and Dylan who both now had children of their own. The Jones' family were always close and tried to spend as much time together as possible, scared about how much time they had left with their parents.

"Me too, they are so precious" Jughead whispered, running his hand up and down her arm. "I love you Betts, and the life we've created with each other. I never thought someone like me could have all this"

"Well you do Juggie, it's all ours. We finally got our dream, no more trouble, no more pain. Our own family...and we're still as in love as ever" she grinned. "Always will be"
