Some days just feel like this💚

Today was hard. It was one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong. Time, space, the whole universe was willing it against her.

That's how Betty recoiled back to her bed, deciding it wasn't worth trying to make the day any better when it was already disastrous enough. She rolled into the warm blankets, burying her face deep in her peony pillow to block the world out.

"Bad day?" a husky voice murmured, causing the blonde to turn her head towards the door. She let a smile break through as she watched him discard his beanie.

"You didn't have to come" she whispered as he walked over to her, sitting at the edge of the bed.

"Yes I did. Veronica told me you were holed up in your room" he replied, laying down behind her. His arm layed over her waist gently, pressing a soft kiss to her neck in an attempt to comfort the blonde "What's wrong Betts?"

"Everything just went wrong today" she whimpered "I fought with my mum again, I dropped my milkshake all over the diner floor, I spilled juice all over my chemistry folder. I didn't save my blue and gold article so now I have to write it all over again and when I tried to cook lunch for myself I managed to burn it. All of it is so mediocre and yet I let it ruin the whole damn day"

"Hey, hey it's okay" he soothed "Everyone has bad days hon, it's okay to give in sometimes"

"I just feel so stupid" she mumbled, her lips forming a pout as she looked up at him. Lately, she'd been getting stressed over the tiniest failures and Jughead understood that it was a time of low tolerance for his girlfriend.

"You're not stupid, you're just under a lot of pressure. I'll go make you some lunch, and then we can lay in bed for the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing" he suggested, his hand rubbing her shoulder gently.

And so the concerned boy did exactly that, cooking her a fresh bowl of soup and sitting with her whilst she ate it. He was rewarded with a few spoonfuls of the delicious tomato concoction every so often, keeping a tight arm around her as he talked to her about his own day.

"If you don't mind me asking....what happened with Alice?" he asked gently after she finished her food.

She sighed "The farm, as usual. She was pushing me to come along for a session, telling me it would help. She acted as if I was deranged and needed curing, so I told her to get out and I haven't seen her since"

"I'm sorry baby" he murmured, pressing his lips to her temple in a gentle gesture.

"She's probably hanging onto Edgar's every word right now, it's pathetic"

"Hm, do you think you'd be okay going somewhere?"

"Jug...I'm really not in the mood" she mumbled shaking her head.

"I know, but I think it could help. And it would still involve you laying down" he grinned, watching as the confusion appeared on her face.

"....Okay, but only because curiosity gets the best of me"

"What are we doing here?" was the first question the blonde had as they reached the top of fox forest hill. The sun had slipped away by now, leaving the moon to shine down on the town.

Jughead only smiled, laying down a blanket from his truck onto the fresh grass "Getting you away from your room, for a little while"

She watched as he layed down on the blanket, patting the space next to him. Complying with his request, she placed herself next to him and stared up at the night sky. "It's freezing out here"

"Take this" he murmured, placing his jacket over her shoulders gently before he pulled her into his chest. She smiled in contentment, watching every little yellow twinkle in the sky as she listened to the gentle beat of his heart.

"The stars are so pretty" she whispered, her hand reaching out to point at a small cluster of them.

The boy's smile grew at her words, gently brushing her locks behind her ear

"We're written in those stars"

Short and sweet one! Hope you're all doing well! 🥰❤
