Merry Christmas everyone! And if you don't celebrate I hope you're still having a great day!

At this point, these two are just base characters for anything I want to write lol ❤

Anyways' enjoy the cuteness!

After a long peaceful sleep curled up in his favourite blonde's bed, Jughead forced himself to get up and search for that very girl. He pattered down the stairs, taming his wild unruly locks with his hand as he called out her name "Betty?!"

"Argghhh!" he heard the frustrated shout, following it to the kitchen where his girlfriend was trying to prepare to host Christmas day. Her floral apron was covered in icing sugar, and the countertops looked even worse. She was fiddling with the dials on the oven, hitting them in anger.

"Betts? You're gonna break the oven" he chuckled, only halting when she turned to him with a deadly glare. She'd definitely learned that trick from her cold mother.

"Laugh one more time and you won't be getting any dinner" she threatened, which of course shut him up immediately. Food was the ultimate bargaining chip for a Jones man.

She gave him a nod before going back to her work, shoving icing sugar in a piping bag to start decorating the cake she had gotten up at 6am to bake.

"Hon, don't you think you should take a break?" he asked softly, sitting upon a small section of the counter that was actually clean.

"No I have too much to do. The turkey needs to cook, I have to finish icing the cake, I haven't even started baking the cookies that Jelly loves! I'm already an hour behind schedule because of my useless alarm" she rambled, flailing her arms up in the air.

"It's Christmas Betts, why don't we just have a nice relaxed morning and open some presents. Then we can come back to this and do it together, just take a break" he pleaded with his girlfriend, a last grab at trying to help her.

"I don't need a break, I need to get this done. It has to be perfect" she shook her head, twisting the bag.

"It doesn't nee-"

"Jughead this is the first Christmas without my family, so yes it does. It does need to be perfect, so I'd appreciate it if you just give me the kitchen for today. Please" she answered hurriedly, a pleading look in her green orbs.

"Okay, okay" he nodded raising his arms in surrender before he turned around and swiftly left the room. He knew it was a sore subject after Hal had gone to prison and Alice had run away with Polly to the farm. Betty had no one left to celebrate the special holiday with, and so she had invited her second family over. He knew how much it meant to her to keep things as normal as possible, and so he wasn't going to deny her that wish.

With a random Christmas movie channel playing in the background, the kind that plays the same hallmark movies on repeat, Jughead sat typing his latest chapter in his own universe. He found himself completely lost in it, only breaking out because of a high-pitched shrill.

The boy jolted in his position, practically throwing his laptop onto the sofa as he rushed towards the kitchen. He stopped in the doorway when he saw smoke swarming from the oven and a burnt turkey on the floor, completely ruined. His eyes travelled up to a shaking blonde in the corner of the room, tears running down her cheeks as she sobbed into her apron.

"Oh Betts...it's okay. It's okay we'll fix it" he assured her as he took her into his arms.

"It's not okay! None of it is okay!" she heaved as she fisted his shirt, shaking her head over and over. He quickly figured it definitely wasn't about the turkey, his hands moving under her thighs to lift her up.
