A fluffy, cheesy one that I love

"Betty just cancel if you don't feel good" Veronica suggested as she tried to dodge clothes being thrown from every direction.

"I can't, Juggie has been so busy with the serpents lately that we haven't had a chance to be alone together. I don't want to cancel on him, so I'll just pretend" she shook her head, chucking another top on the floor before she paused to sneeze.

"Fine, if you're going to do this then we need to make you look less....exhausted?" she trailed off trying to be polite. Betty rolled her blotchy eyes at her best friend before picking up a white summer dress.

"Oo that's cute, you need some simple flats to go with it" the raven haired girl advised, picking up a pair of baby pink lace flats from Betty's wardrobe. Veronica helped her with styling her hair and applying minimal makeup, Betty soon ready clad in her summer outfit.

"Now go enjoy yourself, not too much though" she winked as she passed her friend another tissue to sneeze into. Betty giggled softly, shoving the pack of Kleenex in her cross body bag before leaving the Cooper household. She walked down the street towards Sweetwater river, her red nose and cheeks concealed by a layer of foundation. Her frame shook and slumped but she didn't want to just ditch him, knowing deep down that he wouldn't mind.

"Betts!" she heard a voice call out, her head shooting up from the leave littered floor to see her beloved boyfriend sat on a fallen tree with a grin spread across his face. Her grin matched his as she ran over, letting him envelop her in his arms.

"I've missed you so much" he whispered, peppering soft kisses on top of her head before pulling back so he could do the same over her face. She giggled, her nose scrunching up when he kissed there

"Juggie that tickles" she squealed pushing him off gently "I missed you too though"

The two teenagers layed out a blanket he had carried there, settling down on it as they gazed up at the cloudy grey skies. She had hoped for better weather as she was already shivering- something that didn't go unnoticed by Jughead who had wrapped his sherpa jacket around her.

"You okay?" he asked softly as she finished a coughing fit, taking a sip of her mountain dew. She nodded clearing her throat, wrapping the warm jacket tighter around herself.

"Yeah I'm good, just a dry throat" she smiled weakly, holding back another cough as to not worry him.

"Come on" he spoke getting up, pulling his shirt over his head. She raised an eyebrow watching as he dropped the shirt on the floor.

"What are you doing Jug? It's freezing" she asked as he removed his jeans as well.

"Swimming in the river like we use to" he grinned, running up to the river before he dived in with a huge splash. Betty laughed shaking her head at him as she admired his one of a kind cheeky smile.

"Come join me, you'll get use to the cold I promise" he smiled as he came up to the surface, pushing back his soaked curls. She raised an eyebrow, knowing it wasn't the best idea when she was already shivering but she didn't want to be the spoilsport. With that notion in mind she pulled her lace dress over her head and dropped it to the floor, tightening her ponytail as she carefully stepped into the river.

"Juggie it's freezing" she whined as he took her hands in his to gradually help her in. He brought the blonde into his arms, her legs automatically wrapping around his waist.

"That better?" he asked as their foreheads rested together, sharing body heat in the otherwise chilling water. She nodded as their lips met in a soft, sweet kiss with no intention of parting from each other. Even so, Betty quickly pulled away as she broke out into a coughing fit that made Jughead instantly worry.

"You sure you're alright?" he asked with a hint of uncertainty as her head tucked into his neck.

"My head's spinning" she mumbled "I don't feel well"

"Okay come on, we're going home" he decided promptly, carrying her out of the water over to the picnic blanket. Once they'd managed to get their clothes back on he packed everything up and gave her his jacket back.

"My bike is at the edge of the forest, is that gonna be okay?" he asked.

"Yeah" she answered shortly, clearly still dizzy as she clutched onto his arm whilst making their way out of Sweetwater. It was a short drive back to her house, though the boy went slower than usual- conscious of his girl's dizzy spells.

After Betty took a warm bath both of them curled up on the sofa, blankets surrounding the blonde who was chewing on a fresh cheese toastie.

"Mm you make the best toasties" she whispered with her head against his chest, back against his chest with his hands running through her damp blonde waves.

"Oh I've got the Cooper approval have I?" he teased causing the girl to giggle, spluttering into a cough.

"Hey, hey take it easy" he soothed, rubbing her back gently "You should've told me you were ill from the start"

"I felt bad, we've been to busy to spend any proper days together. I wanted to enjoy a nice date" she pouted.

"And we still can, when you feel better though" he assured, tugging the blanket over both of them before he stole a bite of her toastie.

"Hey! That's mine!" she complained holding the plate away from him.

"Sharing is caring" he smirked in a mocking voice, punctuating it with a kiss to her head.

"You're lucky I love you" Betty huffed, rolling her eyes in disapproval.

"Mm I am lucky, so damn lucky"
