Anways, hope you enjoy!!
"Speech speech speech!" Veronica and Kevin chanted through the noise, eliciting a soft giggle from their best friend.
"Okay, okay. Juggie-" she paused, the spot next to Archie now empty. "Where is he?"
"He said he needed some air....but that was a while ago" Archie spoke, placing his beer down. The room had gone silent, expecting a speech from the couple of the hour.
"Sorry...if you'll excuse me" she announced, placing down her champagne flute before she rushed off to find her husband to be. She couldn't find a trace of him in the backroom, nor outside the bar. She snuck through the crowds up to the small set of stairs, knocking on the office door gently.
"Come in" a monotone grumble sounded, letting the blonde enter. She slowly pushed open the door, finding Jughead with his head in his hands hunched over in his chair.
"Juggie....." she sighed, stepping over to him warily "Why aren't you downstairs?"
"It was too much" he whispered shaking his head "This is too much"
She bit down on her bottom lip anxiously, kneeling down in front of him with her hands on the arms of the office chair "What exactly?"
"All of it, I can't do it" he murmured, not daring to look at it.
"You can't...you can't marry me?" she asked, her eyes flicking between her engagement ring and his shaking hands. That time she got no response, her heart beginning to race as sweat lined her palms. "Juggie answer me"
He shot up out of his chair, sliding past her instantly before he bolted down the staircase. Betty quickly followed after, scared of what he would do. She knew his mind got the best of him sometimes, but their engagement party was supposed to be a happy time.
The room had gone silent yet again, only this time their attention was on him. His hand had the tightest grip on a bottle of whiskey, taking swigs of it every few seconds.
"Jug put it down" she pleaded as she reached him "You don't need that"
"You don't know what I need" he grumbled before going back up to his office with the bottle slamming the door behind him.
Betty slumped into a bar stool, covering her eyes that lined with fresh tears. Almost immediately, the arms of Veronica and Kevin came around her in comfort.
"B, it's gonna be okay" Veronica soothed rubbing her back, glaring at Archie to get everyone out. "You know it's just a wobble"
"I know...but I can't even help him! What kind of wife am I gonna be if I can't even help him now" she vented, wiping her tears.
"Hey, I don't know one person that has helped him more than you have. You two are meant for each other, that's why there's a beautiful ring on your finger. Just give him some time, and then go talk to him" Kevin assured.
"Thanks guys" she smiled through her blurry eyes, sniffling when they hugged her again. "I'm sorry about the party, you did so well with it"
"We can always move it if you both want to. I'm always up for party planning" Veronica laughed softly, passing her friend another glass of champagne.

Under his girlfriend's orders, Archie had moved everyone to their penthouse and distracted them with more alcohol and food.
