Thud. Her body fell to the ground, hearing the boys sniggers surrounding her. Tears clouded her eyes as she lifted herself up off of the ground. "Careful boys, she'll bite" one mocked, a smirk on his face. "Can I please get to my locker?" Juliet asked, brushing herself off. "Why? What's in there, your snake jacket?" he continued to tease, raising an eyebrow at her. Luckily the bell rang, the boys dashing past her and knocking into her shoulder along the way. Don't let them get to you Juliet.

The girl sat down in class at the front as usual, copying down the notes from the board in her array of coloured fine tip pens. She hummed softly to herself, feeling something hit her back. She looked down and saw a scrunched up piece of paper, unravelling it. "

"Jules ignore them" Chloe smiled. Chloe Lodge was Juliet's best friend but she didn't see everything that Juliet endured, she just thought they teased her a little. If only she knew. You can handle it Juliet

"Hey love" Jughead smiled, walking into the kitchen where Betty was sat typing up her latest article. "Juggie? You're home early" she greeted, getting up and wrapping her arms around his neck. He kissed her softly and wrapped his arms around her waist before speaking "I finished up early so I thought I'd come see you"

"I've got to pick Jules up soon, do you want to come with me?" she asked, playing with one of his raven curls. "Yeah, I'll just go take a shower" he nodded. "Can I join?" she asked with an innocent voice, a glint of lust in her eyes. He chuckled and picked her up all of a sudden "Mm I like the sound of that"

After a long shower the happy couple got dressed and soon travelled to Juliet's school to pick her up. "She seemed a little off this morning" Betty mentioned. "She was probably just tired Betts" he assured, kissing her cheek. Betty nodded but couldn't help feel it was more than that. Her daughter was bright and bubbly, always managing to make everyone smile. Recently she had become more quiet, abnormally reserved and lacking that infectious smile. Maybe it's just a phase.

Juliet sat there tapping her pencil against the desk, staring intensely at the clock. As soon as it hit 3 she knew she had a matter of minutes to get out of the building if she wanted to avoid a run in with the same group of boys. She packed up her things, zipping up her backpack before slinging it over her shoulder. She placed her essay down on the teachers desk before running out, keeping her mind on one thing. Get out quickly.

She heard hissing from behind her, turning and seeing the boys laughing at their mocking sounds. They walked up to her and looked her up and down "You covering up for school? I only ask because people like you, well they love to show some skin" one smirked. "I just want to go home" she pleaded, seeing her parents car in the distance. "Oh boohoo, is mummy picking you up?" he asked in a baby voice, backing her up against the wall. "Are you slithering back to the southside huh?" he continued, one hand pressing against the bricks. She flinched in fear, her body trembling and releasing quick, short breaths as she closed her eyes and waited for the usual pain. She felt nothing, no punch or slap, nothing. Her eyes opened slightly to see two figures and the group of boys backing away in fear. It was none other than her parents.

"Juggie don't, they're kids. You'll get into trouble" Betty whispered softly, taking his hands and unclenching his fists. He nodded, her rushing over to her sobbing daughter and pulling her into her arms. "I'm here baby, you're safe now" she soothed, holding Juliet tightly as she kissed her head. The boys tried to make a run for it but Jughead blocked their path, a stern and angry look on his face. "I'm going to take her home, don't do anything stupid" Betty warned before she took Juliet back to the car. The ride was silent, excluding the occasional sob from the young girl, Betty's mind racing as she tried to focus on driving home safely. "Jules talk to me" she pleaded as they neared the house. "It's fine mum, it was nothing" she assured. "Juliet Jones, I know when you're lying to me" Betty replied sternly, glancing over at her.

She hesitated but nodded, wiping her tears "They're just these boys from the year above me. Sometimes they just say things about the fact dad use to live on the southside and how you're still involved in the serpents" she sighed.

"Oh honey, how long?" Betty asked sadly. "Ever since I moved up to Riverdale High, I can handle it though mum. It's not that bad" she shrugged.

"Is it not? Because me and your dad found you pressed against a wall crying whilst he got ready to punch you" Betty replied, looking straight ahead at the road. "Mum..." she sighed.

"No Juliet, it's not just a few comments or typical northsiders. They were going to hit you, they were going to hurt you" Betty refused, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly. Nothing else was said from then on, not for the rest of the car journey and not when they reached the house. Juliet ran straight upstairs leaving her mother leaning against the wall. She knew she was suppose to be strong, to be Juliet's support and help her open up but it was all too much. People like those boys had ruined her mental state growing up and now it was happening to her daughter. She felt helpless, well and truly helpless.
