Author's POV

Time was passing at a fast pace as it was already a month since the sons of Printha along with the fire princess and Aahana left their royal life style to live in the forest. Everything was almost settled now with them adjusting to their lives and taking a step forward to their purpose.

During this time, Yudhishthir prayed and did a penance for which, Surya dev granted him Akshay patra, a vessel that had unlimited supply of food until Draupadi ate. Even though, Yudhishthir should've given the akshay patra to Aahana but he gave it to Draupadi. After all, Draupadi was the eldest daughter in law of their family. The kurus might've not accepted Karna but the sons of Pandu did accept their brothers with open arms making Draupadi eldest kurukulvadhu of their family, if not kuruvansh.

So, the Dharmaraj gave Akshay patra to the fire born.

It was one of the regular nights when the eldest son of Pandu laid awake beside his wife who was in her own dream world. It was almost the time of sunrise as the dark shades of the sky were fading to be replaced by the orangish and pinkish tint of dawn. Yudhishthir got up from his hay bed, covered his wife properly with a blanket and stood near the window of their little hut gazing at the moon that will disappear in a few hours or maybe minutes.

He sighed as the memories of that un fateful day refused to leave his mind. First of all the wife of his brothers was dragged into the court, humiliated with words, compared to a concubine. How she was ordered to pleasure the kuru princes when they should've worshipped her as their mother refused to leave his memory.

The sight of his brothers who he loved just like his sons being slaves was horrendous.
