Author's POV

The moonlight seeped through the white curtains of the royal palace of Madra. The moonlight did no help to illuminate the dark room of the princess. Giving one glance at her sleeping son, the princess moved to her favorite corner of the dark room. She lit two diyas on the table and sat down on the lush carpets.

These carpets pricked her now. The spotless white curtains swayed and the diyas flickered due to the wild winds of Madra. Holding her pen with wobbly hands, she began scribbling her thoughts on the scroll.

It's been three months, five days arya

It's been three months, five days arya. There was not even a single day, a single moment when I didn't wish that you were here. Everything reminds me of you. The earrings that you brought for me, the little toy sword of Suhotra, the shawl you gifted me when I was angry, this room where you once sneaked in to meet me, this palace where we first met, the palace garden where we got married. And your son, he's exactly like you. Little Sahadev.

She wiped her tears as the letter now had many tear strains already.

Yesterday, Suhotra said pitashree for the first time. He has started babbling non sense and a few meaningful words. He is literally little you which irritates me to core. I mean, I'm the one who kept him in my womb for nine months, I'm the one who takes care of him and yet, he goes after you in everything.

A watery chuckle left her mouth as she dipped the pen again in the ink and continued writing.
