Determination (Charisk) [OUTDATED]

      I honestly didn't even expect to get past 500 reads when I started, and now here we are.
I'm re-writing Chapter 7, So be on the lookout for that. [as of may 6, 2021, it has been completed, so... if you read it during its 'under construction phase', go read it again]
      I don't have a big story time, but I have some answers!

The riverperson.
      Yes, the riverperson is omnipresent, and can see in both the past, present, and future. Revealing information to those they deem worthy of it is more of a hobby than a job description, as they mostly act as a ferryperson to those who need to travel throughout the underground. Yes, they do deem the reader as worthy of information, as they were just using Frisk to talk to us.
      You will find out the Riverperson's identity, but not for another third of the story ;)

Why the Gods? The GML religion?
     So, if none of you have caught it by now, GML in real life means Game Maker Language, and it's what Undertale was coded in. So I wanted a nod to that little tidbit of information to be the GML, the rules of the universe.
      Toubi and Diitii, Toubi Fox is a reference to Toby Fox (they are even pronounced the same), the creator of Undertale. Diitii Fox, however, has a different story.

     Diitii Fox is a parallel to DT, or Determination. As Diitii (also pronounced DT) is the creator of DT, and is the main antagonist of the story. His entire function as a character is to destroy the universe, he knows that, he's okay with that, and he enjoys it.

Why the 4 human kingdoms? That isn't cannon.
Well it's cannon to my book.
     I wanted to have a main political force to fight against for the Monster's independence in the 2nd book, and I didn't want to put the American government in there. Arizona isn't necessarily a state, more like a province in the western kingdom.
The continents kept their names, North and South America, Africa, Asia, etc. but they are distributed among the 4 kingdoms.
The western kingdom has both North and South America, excluding Greenland.
The Central kingdom has Europe and some of Asia.
The northern queendom has Greenland, Iceland, the top portion of Europe, The top portion of Asia, and the entirety of the North Pole and Russia.
The Eastern kingdom is the biggest. Because it has all of Africa, the rest of Asia, and the entire area around Australia and the Indian Ocean.

Chara's backstory
     Charaline (pronounced Car-Ah-Lie-N) James Alvarado was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Western Kingdom. Due to Chara having the SOUL of Determination, he was an outcast. During one of the few days a year that it wasn't constantly storming, A group of dangerous Criminals targeted the village as a weak point that they could take advantage of.
     These 'Pirates' were part of the Human Trafficking Trade, and were going to sell them as slaves to a drug lord in Mexico. Chara, however, being held on the top deck, had access to the captains gun, and subconsciously used Red Magic to shoot and kill them all. This experience traumatized him for the rest of his life.

     When Chara was 3, he was sent to Mt. Ebott. He fell, but survived, and was taken in by the Dreemurr Family. After a while Chara, unknowingly being helped by Diitii, came up with a plan to not only get revenge on his people for sending him to die, but also to get the SOULs required to break the barrier.
He and his brother, Asriel, died as a result of the plan failing.

Frisk Backstory
     Frisk Archer was born in a scrapyard in Arizona, a few miles from Mt. Ebott, to an abusive Father and a traumatized step mother (Her birth mother died during childbirth because the SOUL of determination had to pass on). When her Father killed her Step-mother, Frisk was taken away by CPS to live with her Aunt and Uncle on the other side of the mountain.
     After so many years of constant bullying and the influence of Diitii, she fell into the Underground.

This ignited the spark of Determination that Chara had, and anchored his spirit to her SOUL.

What does that white void that Chara stumbles into have to do with the story?
That white void is a representation of Chara's SOUL. All of the knowledge, the experiences, the family stuff, all of that is inside that place. That includes Diitii. The reason that Chara is even able to travel there in the first place is because of his glitchy nature. Chara's glitchiness is also the reason that both Frisk and him were able to have the SOUL of Determination at the same time.

Why does Chara resort to self harm?
Chara has... Low self control. Plus Diitii recognizes that Chara is the stronger-willed out of Chara and Frisk, so being able to take Chara out of the picture works for Diitii's plan. Diitii's influence has been slowly driving Chara to do worse and worse things to himself. But disguising it as Chara's own regrets.
Chara eventually works through it, and it becomes a thing of the past as Chara builds more of a resilience to Diitii, so we just have to wait.

What's going on with Frisk?
VOID poisoning. Because the VOID is system put in by the universe as a catch-all for glitches in the GML, it naturally tried to put Chara into itself as a precaution to maintain the 'only 1 Red SOUL' rule. Chara's determination was too high when he was alive, so he was able to stay alive, and Frisk's Determination was too high for the VOID to take Chara, so Chara was constantly under a pull between Frisk's SOUL and the VOID. This caused Chara to constantly output VOID radiation. Normally, this VOID energy would be confined to the VOID, but with Chara acting as a Gateway, VOID particles could affect his spirit.

Frisk, being around Chara for so long, and even directly traveling to the VOID herself, has had almost more exposure to VOID energy than Chara.

Symptoms include:
Coughing,
Nausea,
Dizziness,
Black tears made of VOID,
Vision pooling with a Black substance,
And vomiting black bile.

W.D Gaster?
So I made Gaster the third skele-bro. Sue me. He was sucked into the VOID by a glitched SAVE point he created, which caused him to become erased from existence.
