(FRISK POV)

"I... I just...that means a lot to me, sans." I wiped my eyes with my sleeves.
"yeah, I know, kid." he rubbed his ribcage and made a funny noise. "but, uh... what you did... left scars."
"Scars?!"
"yeah, not just physically, but mentally, too. i have a scar across my ribs, where you had cut me... paps head is detachable at the neck."
"Yikes..."
"yeah, my reaction, too. but that's the thing. if i didnt have the ability to see through the effects of red magic, I would have thought that I always had this scar. sometimes, my memories are hazy, i know I didn't have the scar back then, but it was there. but, as far as i can tell, only boss monsters are strong enough to manifest scars across timelines. skeletons are the exception as we are made of DARK magic and are not boss monsters."
     "Boss monsters?"
     "a boss monster is a type of monster, LIGHT or DARK, that has a stronger SOUL than other monsters. boss monsters usually have more health, power, and resistance than other monsters."
"That includes DT, too, right?"
"yeah... their SOULs can persist after death." I remember that. Toriel's SOUL appeared after she died. Not for very long, but long enough to see.... sans was quiet for a while after our conversation. Then he said something peculiar. "hey... do you know anything about the VOID?" Memories hit me like a brick wall. I remember everything. What happened, what it is, other universes... Gaster. I don't know when I saw other universes but I definitely know it happened. It felt too... real.
"Y-yeah..."
"mmm... alright then. who is w.d. gaster?"
"Wingdings Gaster, sole resident of the VOID."
"who... who is he to me?"
"He... is your brother, in this universe. In other universes he is your father or lab assistant or even—"
"stop... st-stop. that's enough." He was crying.
"sans! Are you okay?"
"wow kid, i-i can't believe i let you drag me away from work that long... thanks but, i need to go."
     "Sans, wait! He wants you to know that he's ok."
