50 - EXPLAIN YOURSELF

(CHARA POV)

Well, now that that's out of the way, I think I need to be clean.
"Ima go take a shower, I probably smell like the dead."
"Was that a pun?"
"You're smiling."
"I am and I hate it. Go take a shower, nerd." Frisk headed off to the main annex of the lab. Without realizing, I was already in the main annex.
"Huh... Hey Alphys?" Her voice came from behind me.
"I'm r-right here."
"Do you have a shower I can use?"
"Yeah th-that door." She pointed to a door on the top floor of the lab.
"Thanks!" I rode the escalator up to the top floor and entered the bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. I look good. Almost everything about me changed. I've seen this new body before, just, not up close. My hair wasn't the dusty brown like before, but more of a crimson brown, it also was a bit longer. I was a few inches shorter than I used to be, and definitely a bit slimmer. My bulky figure was reduced to a more fit physique... which also means my jacket is too big. Anyway, it's shower time.

(FRISK POV)

Chara kicked the door next to us open, wearing nothing but a towel around the waist.
"ALPHYS WHAT THE FUCK? WHY AM I A GIRL?!" I spit out my coffee.
     "I-I did warn y-you that there were s-side e-effects." Alphys got a nosebleed that was worthy of an anime.
     "Chara, cover your chest." Chara's entire face turned as red as his... her? eyes. As if she was trying to block a bullet, her arm moved to cover herself.
     "Sé que te gusta el anime, pero no me gusta este regla sesenta y tres mierda." Alphys tripped over her words.
     "¡N-No es así, lo j-juro!"
     "Chara how did you not notice when you took your clothes off that you were... a girl?"
     "I-I don't know! I just didn't notice until I had to put my clothes on! Nothing felt o-off!"
     "Speaking of putting your clothes on..." Chara froze.
     "...ill be right back." I glared at Alphys.
     "Care to explain?"
     "I-It's not what it looks like?"
     "So my boyfriend is not my girlfriend?"
     "Um... I c-can explain when Chara gets back."
     "You better." Shortly after, Chara returned, face still as red as when she left. She sat down with a huff.
      "Explain." Chara and I said in unison.
      "W-well, I told Prince... Princess—"
      "N O."
      "I-I told you that y-your body would l-look like whatever your s-subconscious perceived yourself to be. A-and any insecurities or q-questions would be... a-amplified... so you must have q—"
"No, I got that." Chara looked deep in thought.
"Chars? You okay?"
"I-Yeah, I just. I'm having a hard time coping with this. Like, out of nowhere, I'm a girl? With all the bits? I just... it's not what I'm used to."
"Yeah, I understand. Coming into the Underground, learning about magic and monsters..." Chara stood up.
"I need some time to think." Chara took three steps and disappeared.
"D-did Chara just take a sh-shortcut?"
"I think so, she's been taking a lot of them recently... but I think I might know where she might be."
"G-good luck. Oh! W-wait! T-take this." Alphys handed me a picnic basket. Inside was a heavy blanket, the uneaten pie, some chocolate and hand warmers.
     "Alphys how did you-"
     "I figured you two would be in Snowdin staying with sans a-and Papyrus. S-so I was planning on giving these to you anyway."
     "Thanks! I'll see you later Dr. Alphys!"
     "T-Take care!" I stepped out of the lab. Hotland was hotter than usual. I picked up the SAVE shard on the floor, outside the lab. This time it felt different. It felt... Empty. I can't really explain it, but the SAVE shard felt empty when I tried to use it. Regardless, I walked down to the Riverperson.
     "Where would you like to go?"
      "Snowdin, please!"
     "Step right on and we'll be off." The ride was silent up until waterfall.  "Tra la la, Humans, Monsters, Flowers." We arrived in Snowdin shortly after that. "Tra la la, come again, or not, it does not really matter." I walked for about 20 minutes.

     "I thought I might find you here." Chara was on the hill overlooking Snowdin town and Snowdin forest. She was sitting on the edge of the cliff.
     "Oh. Hi, Frisk." I set the basket down on a large nearby rock and sat next to Chara.
     "Do you... wanna talk about it?"
     "Yeah. I've been thinking. About all..." Chara gestured to her whole body. "This. I could just say that I identify as male and ignore that this happened completely... but... if this really is what I truly perceive myself to be... than I shouldn't really reject it. Maybe, maybe this is who I am now. And I think I'm okay with that."
     "Chara thats.. really mature of you."
     "It just seems like the logical answer..." Chara looked down into the forest.
     "You know I'm still going to be with you no matter what, right?"
     "Even though we're both girls?"
     "Eh, that doesn't really matter to me. We agreed that we were going to try this out for real this time, and I'm not going to bail over some boobies." Chara broke.
     "PFFT HAHAHAHAHAHhAHAHahahAHA *cough cough* Hahahha!!!"
     "That really got you, didn't it?"
     "¡Oh, mierda! I'm dying..."
