(CHARA POV)

   The lights scorched my eyes as I opened them for the first time in weeks. As the ringing in my ears died down, I heard the voice of my very frantic girlfriend.
   "Chara! Alphys, he's awake! Chara! Oh my god, I was so worried that something would go wrong. I had to wait for weeks before you woke up and I went back and forth to so many new places and— Chara?... Can... Can you hear me?" I tried to respond, but I couldn't speak. I couldn't... I couldn't move. My body feels... Heavy. I haven't spoken or moved in over 13 years. At least, not really. "C-Chara? Charaline? Do... Do you know who I am?" I couldn't even move my eyes. I just... laid there.
   All right. How do I move a body? I mean, I've had a body before. But... this one is made of magic. I've possessed Frisk before, but... that was both of us moving in unison. How do I move this body? I can blink. That's a start. I can... twitch my fingers. That's something. Meanwhile, Frisk was freaking out about me being paralyzed. Or having no memory. But I powered through. First my fingers. Then my hands. Then my arms and legs. Little by little, i inched my way to an upright position. Frisk didn't notice, however. She was busy yelling to Alphys about... something or other. I couldn't make out specifics. I tried to speak, by no words came out. I tried to make sound. Any sound to get her attention.
   "Ah..... A-Ahh.... Fff...F-Frih... F-fuh riss... Fffrissk. F-Frisk." Frisk let go of Alphys's coat and turned to me.
   "Did.. Did you just say my name?" There was a lot of coughing, but I eventually got out the words.
   "Hhhow... C-could I... Fffuh-forg-get, forget. Ah-Ah... a face as... as p-pretty as yours?" She was at a loss for words. Tears welled up in her eyes as she pulled me into a tight embrace.
   "Charaline, you smooth bastard. I hate you so much." What could be considered a smile spread across my face.
   "I l-luh—Love you t-too."
