(FRISK POV)

"Frisk!" A muffled voice shouted. "Frisk wake up!"

"This is all just a bad dream!"

"Frisk, come back to me." Chara spoke. I woke up in a cold sweat, only to be greeted by his sweet face hanging over me. I grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him into a kiss. Tears ran down my face, and I wasn't sure if they were mine or his. He sunk his weight into me as I pulled him closer. I didn't ever want to let go of this. But, we—unfortunately—couldn't just make out all day; we had a nation to liberate. Chara broke away without fully standing up. "Hey."

"Hey."

"Thank goodness you are awake, we feared that you and Chara were..." Toriel trailed off, imagining the worst.

"What happened...?" I asked. Chara helped me stand up. We were in the small buffer room outside The Barrier, surrounded by our friends and family.

"W-We were so worried..." Alphys began. "It felt like you were out forever!"

"Yeah!" Undyne chipped in. "If Red-Eyes hadn't woke up minutes before you did, I would have freaked out! Tell us next time you two decide to take a nap!"

"and maybe get a room, first." sans winked, causing Chara and I to both blush furiously. "and b'sides, you made papyrus cry like a baby." His brother crossed his arms.

"WHAT!! I DIDN'T CRY!!! I DON'T CRY!! I JUST.... CAUGHT SOMETHING IN MY EYE." He assured.

"what did you catch?"

"TEARS!!!" Papyrus started to cry again. Mettaton put his arm around Papyrus and placed a hand on his chest.

"Papyrus, darling, crying will only give you wrinkles, and we don't want that, now do we?" Papyrus sniffled and nodded, and if he had blood, I'd bet you he'd be blushing, too.

"Now, now," Asgore began. "The important part is that they are both all right. Would you like some tea?" Asgore pulled out a gold-plated thermos seemingly out of nowhere, presumably filled with tea.

"Thank you, guys. But, could we get a little space, first?" Chara asked.

"Yes, they must be very exhausted, though from what, I am not certain." Toriel said.

"I could take a guess..." Mettaton suggested. Chara slugged him in the arm all buddy-buddy like, then shook his hand after finding out that Mettaton was, in fact, made of metal. We all laughed for what felt like the first time in forever.

"So, why aren't we in The Barrier anymore... is it broken?" I asked.

"we dont remember what happened." sans explained.

"There was a flower... And then everything went white." Toriel explained.

"But now The Barrier's gone." Undyne chimed in.

"Why haven't you guys gone yet?!" I shouted.

"We were waiting for you." Chara said, looking longingly back towards New Home.

"When you are ready, we will all return to the surface." Toriel nodded.

"B-but! If you t-two have anything y-you want to do...!" Alphys offered.

"That is appropriate for all audiences.. that is..." Mettaton winked, earning a light blush from Chara and I.

"We will wait." Undyne glared at him. I looked at Chara. He squeezed my hands.
