17 - REASSURANCE.

(CHARA POV)

"Frisk! Wait!" It hurts for people to care about her? But, she said that she loved me before. Was that a lie? Undyne was stirring beside me.

"Nghhh... What happened?"

"Really? all it took was a cup of water?"

"One cup of water? HEY!! Get off me!" I moved out of Undyne's way. "Whatever. I'm going home." Undyne got up, dusted herself off and stormed away.

"Ya' know... There was one other reset where you came back to life." Said Flowey.

"AHH! Flowey? where'd you come from? Dammit. That means the world is going to RESET..." I braced for the impending world-shattering sensation that comes with a RESET, but it never came.

"Watcha' worrying about Chara? The world aint' going to do that. Not even if I wanted to."

"You knew me before I died... And when you saw me the first time, the world RESET. Why isn't it doing that now?"

"Hell if I know. I don't remember seeing you when we met back at the mountain entrance. And I remember every RESET... But it sure has been awhile, hasn't it?"

"What do you mean? We only met like, a week and a half ago. Who even are you?"

"Never mind that, sorry. If I told you... Some thing bad might happen."

"Wha-- Never mind. Forget I asked. What are you doing here?"

"Talking to you, of course! Gosh, you're so silly sometimes."

"Don't talk to me like I'm 5. I'm 18."

"Right... It has been 13 years, hasn't it?

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"You should go console your girly friend, Chara~... And forget about me. I knew this would be a waste of time."

"Flowey, wait--" But he already popped underground. leaving behind a small upturned pile of stone. What did he mean? I'll think about it later. but he's right. I have to go find Frisk.

(FRISK POV)

Why can't he just understand? Why did I say that to him? It's so hot out here. My dad was right. I can't care about people. I don't even know where I'm going. After walking for a bit, I stumbled upon a large white building. I slumped down. Chara was nowhere in sight. I don't know how long I sat there for, but after awhile the door opened and a short yellow dinosaur wearing a pink tank top, black sweats, and a sports bra that barely fit walked out. She was collecting some mail when she noticed me.

"Uhh, p-please don't cry um... I didn't expect you to get here so quickly... H-here, lets g-get you inside..." I didn't even realize I was crying. I nodded and walked inside the 'LAB' with her. She quickly put a lab coat and sat me down on the couch. I looked around, there was a huge monitor that displayed live video feed of... ME??

"Um, excuse me?"

"Y-Yes?"

"Why is there a TV with live footage of me?"

"Oh, um... I've been observing you ever since you stepped out of the Ruins."

"O-Observing me?"

"Your fights... Your friendships... Everything!" My face felt really hot all of a sudden.

"E-Everything?" Does that mean... her face went from yellow to red as soon as I asked.
