TW - discussion of traumatic events.

(FRISK POV)

Chara fell asleep in my arms. We'll wait until morning to continue our journey.

It's... weird. Usually I have vivid dreams... or, nightmares, really. But tonight was dreamless. One minute, I'm comforting Chara in his sleep, the next I'm waking up to Room Service Pancakes covered in chocolate sauce. (take a wild guess who ordered it.) Chara was unusually quiet. After a few minutes, he broke the silence.

    "I felt that urge again."

"What 'urge'?" Chara looked up at me blankly.

"You know, to..." he struggled on the word for a while. It was obviously causing him distress.

     "Cut?" He nodded weakly.

     "yeah... that."

     "Did you?"

"n-no... I don't like it! I don't want to! So why?! Why does it keep—"

"Hey... Hey, it's okay. I know you don't want to."

"Every time I think I'm over it... even the tiniest thing just—"

"Chara. Nothing about what you've been going through lately has been tiny."

"Right... yeah.... hey, Frisk?"

"Yeah?"

"i know that we need to go to New Home to get to Dad—... Asgore. but i don't think im ready to... well... do anything."

"That's perfectly fine. We can do other things!" I don't know if it's something I said, or if it's a face I made, but a weak smile grew on his face. "Like... Do you know any instruments?" That seemed to distract him.

"I think so. Piano for sure... and I think guitar, but I've never tried." At least he was capitalizing his sentences now.

"Well, can you like, conjure up a magic guitar?"

"That's not exactly how it works. I can't just 'make' stuff. I'd have to turn thin wood sheets into parts of a guitar, and then assemble it that way."

"Ah."

"..."

"..."

Awkward silence.

"I could teach you Spanish."

"Yes. Definitely."

. . .

Chara teaching me Spanish (or trying to, at least. I'm not very good.)  is a nice distraction for him.

"Así que, prueba rápida, ¿puede entender esta pregunta?" Chara asked.

"Eh... En realidad, no. Sorry Chara, I only got Así que, rápida, and entendar. I'm a lost cause." Chara waved his hands.

"¡No digas eso, ta va bien! I never said it would be easy, besides, for your first lesson, you understood a lot more than I expected."

"It helps that I can see words."

     "See? Positives."

"Do you mind if we go runs some errands?" Chara's smile faded. "Not!... anything major, enjoying the rain! Looking at the market and stuff..."

"It's not rain." Chara looked out the window. "It's fake."

"Does it matter? It's not going to leave weather
it's rain or not."
