(FRISK POV)

After our little conversation, me and Chara came down the stairs to a warm, pie breeze. Out of nowhere, I got a piercing headache.
"Hey Chara? Did I hit my head when I fell?"
     "Not that I recall, why?"
"Well Ive having really bad headaches recently."
"Hmm... maybe it's because you got hit in the SOUL.
Toriel, I think it was? Served us up a pumpkin pie. No, it's too light to be a pumpkin pie, maybe cinnamon or something?
"I made you some Butterscotch-Cinnamon pie, my child, I would have served you snail pie but most humans don't enjoy snail pie as much as I do, I'm afraid."
"Oh, I didn't know you could turn snails into pie." Snail pie has an odd sound to it. Would it be a traditional pie, or would it be a meat pie?
"Oh yes, snail pie is quite delicious~" And Toriel starts humming to herself. "Oh! In fact I have just the book you can borrow!" She runs off to go fetch it. Meanwhile, there is pie here. I take a bite and..
"You know Chara, it's delicious, butterscotch is my favorite candy and the spice of the cinnamon really compliments the sweetness of it all. Mmm~...!"
"What?" Chara asked.
"It's... gone. I didn't even swallow. It's just... gone."
"Oh! Right. Monster food is different than human food, it's mostly made of magic. Turns to magical energy as soon as you eat it."
"That's so cool!"
"Eh, I miss real food."
"Elaborate."
"Monster food doesn't fill you up at all. It's just magic. It more negates the bad effects of not eating."
     "Neat."
"...Yeah." Chara looked sad, pretty unusual for his good with the flow' attitude. But what do I know? I've only known him for about a day.
"...You okay?"
"I.... Y-yeah, I'm fine.... But, when mom comes back you should ask if she could make chocolate snail pie, it's my favorite." wait.
"Mom?"
"She was my adopted mother when I fell down here, I didn't know she was still alive. I miss her so much, but if I interact with her, the the whole world goes in the trash." His voice was breaking up. It's obvious that he was upset at the whole situation... I have an idea.
"Hey, hey it's okay. Here, if you interact with the environment in subtle ways, then she would just think it was her and she forgot. It's a win-win." That did it.
"Hey. Hey you're right! I'll be right back. Don't forget, chocolate snail pie!" His voice trails off as he goes to fulfill his newly concocted plan. I may not be feeling all much of myself, but I like seeing him happy. It makes me happy. His adorable shit-eating grin, his ruffled hair, his sort of deep but not really voice, the size of his—
"My child!" I sit up mega straight, frightened. "I found the book! It's called: "72 Uses for Snails" and I'll let you borrow it."
. . .
The cover looks interesting, at least. It's critically acclaimed. What did Chara need? Oh right, weirdo pie.
"Excuse me, miss Toriel? I was wondering, this pie is really good, but I was wondering if you could bake a chocolate snail pie?" Her face looked a little shocked, her eyes went glossy and she cleared her throat and said in a dry voice:
"Of course, but it's been over 13 years sconce someone asked me to make chocolate snail pie. A long time ago, the first human to fall into the underground, who I adopted as my son, loved chocolate snail pie, but now he is dead. *sigh* Well as much as I miss him, he is gone, as are things in life," tears are streaming down her face as she speaks in a warm, calm, voice. "If you want that pie I'll make it for you I guess, one cho-co-late snail pie coming right up!" It was cute how she anunciated chocolate like that, I'm sorry about Chara though, both him and Toriel really miss each other. I wonder how Chara's doing on his end?
"Hey Frisk!"
"Speak of the devil and he may arrive,"
"Demon not devil, easy to get them mixed up,"
"Wha— never mind, how did things go?"
"I think I made it clear."
"Make what clear?"
"Don't worry about it!" I'm worried about it.
"Chara?" He looked into my eyes.
"Yes, Frisk?" He furrowed his eyebrows,
"Can we be friends?" Please don't reject me like the others...
"Well of course! Why wouldn't we be? From here on out, I Chara pledge to be~~~~" His voice trailed on for a while but I'm so glad he's my friend, back on the surface, I had no friends, but he didn't have to be so cheesy about it.
"Alright sir friendalot, we get it." I smirked and he just smiled at me. We stared at each other for a bit.
"Your eyes look very pretty today~" Wha—? He just got up and walked away. I can feel my face
getting warmer.
"Alright my child one choco—" She turned to me and saw my face. "Are you alright, my child? Do you have a fever, your face looks flushed!" She put her hand on my forehead. Her fur was soft.
"No, miss Toriel, I'm fine." I took a slice of the pie and said: "I'm going back to my room, thanks!" She didn't respond, or maybe I just didn't hear her.
. . .
I got back to my room where Chara was waiting on my bed he looked at me and smiled.
"Ooh~ is this the pie?" He smiled and winked at me. I felt my face becomes red again but I didn't know why.
"No, it's just a magic hologram made to satiate your hunger. Yes it's the pie, here's your fork."
He finishes eating it and says:
"Oh boy that was good," he looks content and full. "Frisk I left you a small piece, if you want some." He pointed at the plate and there was, in fact, a single bite left.
"Heh..."
"What? Do you not want it?"
"It's not that, I just... Nobody would ever do something little like that for me."
"Really? No one? Not even the last bite of something?"
"You'd be surprised... No one really cares about me that much on the surface." Suddenly I felt him hug me like a warm, strong breeze, he smelled faintly of buttercups. We must have been there awhile, because at some point miss Toriel came in but I was too tired to care. Being in Chara's warm embrace put me to sleep fast. I guess I didn't realize it at the time but in the morning I woke up, nudged Chara asid— wait does that mean we slept together? Never mind that's a can of worms for later. I decided to try that tiny chunk of pie left. It was actually pretty good, the saltiness of the mollusk really brings out the full flavor of the dark chocolate. I looked back at Chara, blissfully asleep. I guess I couldn't control myself but I crawled back into bed with him as he put his arms around me and tightened his grip. As long as he didn't get fresh, I guess I could cuddle for a bit.

Snail fact #1:
Snails can use their shells as shelter. (Or should I say, shell-ter. Sensible chuckle)
