(FRISK POV)
"C-Chara?" He turned to look at me.
"Yeah?"
"What was that?" He just shrugged.
"A song I just came up with." He just made that up?
"I didn't know you knew how to play the piano."
"Neither did I, I guess I don't remember everything from my life." He chuckled a bit. "Cmon, let's get going." We don't have all afterlife,"
"Alright, then." We walked back to the rain. "I know that you know Spanish, but where did you learn it from?" Chara looked down at the floor.
"It's actually my native language. I was born and raised for the first 2 years of my life in South America. Venezuela. Then I-I... I ended up in Arizona, just a few miles from Mt.Ebott." How did he end up in Arizona? And more importantly, did we grow live in the same town for two years? We were walking along the path when we met monster kid again.
"Yo, you got an umbrella? Awesome!" Me and Chara looked at each other funny as MK slipped under the umbrella. We kept walking.
"I mean, he can't hold an umbrella, he's got no arms but... he's kind of being a third wheel right now." Chara was getting increasingly annoyed at the fact MK was interrupting our moment. "This happened last time we were in waterfall, too." Both Chara and I blushed when he said that. I put my hood up and tightened it. Suddenly I had an idea. I looked over a MK,
"Y-Yo... why are you looking at me like that?" I ran back to the UmbrellaCan™️ and grabbed another umbrella. "Yo, what are you doing with that tape? Waaaaa!! No stop! Hey that hur— oh hey this works. Thanks yo!" He ran off and fell. He used his new umbrella to help himself up. I looked at Chara and we both started giggling.
"Hey Frisk, speaking of personal questions, why don't you open your eyes much?
"Oh, I was born with an extremely rare medical condition. I wasn't born with pupils. My eyes were just the whites and irises. One day, pupils just appeared, it hurt a lot. No one believed me when I said that I didn't use to have pupils."
"Then are you blind or something?"
"No, I was born with a sixth sense. Extrasensory perception, or, ESP. I can see energy. So heat, electricity, etcetera. It's not psychic or anything, I just know where everything is." He started stammering.
"Like can you read like brainwaves and stuff? O-or like blood flow or—"
"If you're asking if I can read when you have a boner, no. I can't. Unless I wanted to take 12 years of school to become a neurologist, I can't read minds, and it doesn't take a 6th sense to know when you're horny, Charaline~" he pulled up his hood, pulled his shirt down, and just looked at the ground. "But when I do open my eyes, it hurts to see. I only developed pupils last year, I think. This whole light thing is weird... I mean I knew where light was and stuff, and like, colors, but actually seeing them is still a bit strange. The reason I open my eyes in the first place is it takes a lot of focus to 'see' with my eyes closed."
"B—"
"No I don't see like a snake. I can tell almost perfectly what everything looks like, think of it like being some weird kind of color blindness." Chara seemed to understand it a bit more.
"Ahh, okay." We walked out of the rainy corridor into this big, open space where we could see the castle in the distance. It was really pretty. He winced and grunted, but his hand was solid and held on to mine. He looked like he was in a lot of pain but he turned and kissed me. It was rare that we had these moments to ourselves, always being interrupted by the skeletons or some other monsters.
. . ."Yo! You coming or not?" I jumped off of my floating boyfriend and turned around.
"C-Coming!" Chara seemed more at ease with being intangible, though it was obvious that he was disappointed we didn't continue.
"Uggggh, MK is such a buzzkill!" I didn't respond to that comment. We came up to a ledge that was just too tall to climb. I put our umbrellas into a different umbrella trash can, and climbed up on his shoulders.
"thanks, MK."
"No problem, yo... I'll meet you up there. I always find a way to see Undyne." He walked away, face as red as Chara's eyes, muttering something like: "Undyne's the coolest." I turned to Chara.
"So where were we?" His face turned an even brighter red.
"About that... I don't think I'll be solid for awhile. That was all I had back there."
"That's a shame. Do you know what I would've done had you been able to become rock solid?" He got up real close to my ear and whispered:
"I can imagine." I thought I was controlling this situation.
"Well until you can muster up the strength, imagining is the only thing you will be doing."
"That was mean." He made a little pouty face and I stuck my tongue out. We kept walking onwards. We made our way to a bridge directly over Asgore knows where when a spear flew right by us. We started running. A flurry of spears erupted right behind us, and I got cut a bunch all over my face and arms. I'm just lucky my hoodie didn't get cut. Undyne had cornered us. I panicked. I grabbed a spear and— I felt myself start to split. The tear in my mind felt like it was branding my SOUL with an iron rod. The voice whispered:
Do it. Kill her. It's the only way.
No! There has to be another way. Undyne's right eye glittered in the darkness. Only one eye. I looked frantically for the answer, eyes darting around for just one thing that didn't involve violence... The ropes. I dodged another spear, picked it up, and cut the ropes holding the bridge. The bridge fell, Undyne held on to a nearby stalactite as we fell into the dark.Snail Fact #9
