(CHARA POV)[M]

Frisk hit the floor. The things disappeared. I was trying so hard to comprehend anything that just happened. It all happened so fast. I couldn't move, I was in so much shock. I shook it off and ignored the feeling, pushing all my anger and fear down. I'll deal with that later. I seem to be telling myself that a lot, as of late.

I put my hand on Frisk's forehead. She was burning up.

"A tomar por culo," I told myself. I picked her up so I was carrying her piggyback-style. I made sure to lean forward so she wouldn't fall. I looked around frantically for anything that could help. Then I saw a glint of red in the drain. It was a small, red, circular access key. I picked it up and looked for anywhere I could use it. The next room had a large, red capacitor cell with a shot like a gumball machine. After inserting the key, I followed the Red wire back to the main room. Frisk's breathing and heart rate got a little slower. I was running out of time. I walked past a sign which lit up in my presence. 'POWER ROOM'

I walked swiftly through the now open right path. An empty hallway led to a large room with lots of beds. I set Frisk down onto the closest one. Drip.

"Please." I muttered. I held my hand out, trying to focus any magic I could muster. Drip. I still can't do healing magic. "Please, someone help her." Drip. Drip. Drip. Next to me, more white sludge dripped from the ceiling. It all coalesced into a tall, thin figure with a flat, wide head. It had no other defining features other than a single arm-like appendage forming from the center of its torso. It reached slowly towards Frisk.

I couldn't move. It's arm reached closer to her unconscious body. Stop. Don't touch her! No sound could escape me. Suddenly, it's arm lowered to reach the blanket, and then just as quickly it covered Frisk with the blanket. It then stopped to pat her on the head before turning to me. I had to be at least 8 feet tall. It's thin head was twice as wide as a dinner plate, and it had no eyes or mouth. An empty expanse.

N-No, I don't like this. This feels wrong. Everything about this, about what I'm looking at. It's unnatural. You shouldn't exist. Why do you exist? Are you in pain, too?

It's arm reached out to my shoulder, patted it once, and the entire being faded away. As if everything I just saw was an illusion. I wanted to cry. I wanted to shout, scream, vomit, anything. But nothing happened. So I sat down next to Frisk. And as I heard her quietly breathing, the safety I felt in knowing that she was still alive, the quietness I felt flowing from her mind, and the exhaustion I felt from everything that just happened drifted me off to sleep.

. . .

(FRISK POV)

I was in a dark, empty space. This wasn't the VOID. I'd know immediately if it was. There were no walls, ceiling, or even a distinguished floor. I just waited.

After what felt like forever, someone started to call me. I answered the phone only to hear the voice of sans.

"so... its been a while. the queen returned, and is now ruling over the underground. she's instated a new policy... all the humans who fall here will be treated not as enemies, but as friends. it's probably for the best, anyway. the human SOULs the king gathered... seem to have disappeared. so, uh, that plan ain't happening any time soon. but even though people are heartbroken about the king... and things are looking grim for our freedom... the queen's trying her best to let us give up hope. so, uh, hey... if we're not giving up down here... don't give up wherever you are... okay? who knows how long it will take, but we will get out of here." I couldn't respond. When was this? I know this was a memory, and not a dream. It all feels too real, too familiar.
