(CHARA POV) [F]

Frisk and I walked through the softly lit corridors of Waterfall, our Gyftmas presents stored safely in some sort of Multi-Dimensional storage app on Frisk's phone. The ambiance was quite soothing. My new hairpin kept the hair out of my eyes.
"Frisk, where are we going? We have to go through Hotland to get to New Home." Frisk smiled and said:
"Well, as much as I'm against the idea of fighting, self defense is inevitable. I am a fugitive, after all. So we're going to go train at Undyne's for a few. I may be crazy powerful, but I am really bad at fighting."
"Cool... Wait does that mean I get to learn magic!?"
     "Ma~ybe."
"Yes! Oh man, back when we were kids, I was so jealous of Azzy because he got to do magic, and I was just a human. But now, I might even be able to have my own bullet patterns!" I played through all the possibilities in my head. Frisk started to giggle. "What?"
"Nothing! I just, you can be so adorable sometimes."
"I just think magic is neat." We walked in silence for a while, before I noticed something. "I know that you're staring at them." Frisk tripped over her words.
"Wha- I wasn't— I'm not—" She looked away from me.
"I can't say I blame you," I pushed up my chest. "They're very distracting." Frisk walked ahead of me.
"N-Nevermind, let's just get to Undyne's."
"Yeah... That hoodie looks good on you."
     "You think?"
"Yep! The red heart even looks like your SOUL."
"Yeah, a little." More awkward silence.
"...So Frisk, have you had any weird dreams recently?" Frisk turned around to face me.
"... ... ... One or two." Frisk is hiding something. I can tell, she's a terrible liar. But if she doesn't want to tell me, I won't push it. "Why do you ask?"
"I've had some weird dreams, and wondered if you did too. How weird were they?"
"Oh you know, falling through an endless white void, falling through an endless black void. Usual weird dream stuff."
"A white void... Was there anything in that place?"
"...Not that I recall. Have you had a similar dream?"
"Yeah, actually. So I was in this strange place, and there were golden flowers under me-"

(FRISK POV)

"-and then he told me 'I've been insane longer than man or monster invented clothes, fallen.', then I woke up."
"So that's what your SOUL looks like?"
"Apparently. Oh look we're—" Chara was cut off by the sounds of heavy construction. Undyne was beating up a training dummy while lots of  construction workers bearing the Delta Rune worked on her destroyed house. Undyne noticed us, and before any of the workers saw us, she gestured for us to get away.
I grabbed Chara and walked away quickly, putting up my hood. "F-Frisk!? Why are you—"
"Shh, keep it down." As soon as we got out of Waterfall city, I put my hood back down.
     "What was that all about?"
"There were Royal Guard sanctioned construction workers, it'd be bad if they saw us."
"Why would Undyne need—" Just then, Undyne walked up to us.
"Hey, sorry about that, I didn't want you guys to get caught. And if that happened, I'd have to explain a lot of stuff to the King. Merry Gyftmas by the way."
"Merry Gyftmas to you too. Two questions, why are those guys even there? And what happened to your house?" Undyne scratched her head.
"Well...."
"She's the one who taught Papyrus how to cook." Chara immediately seemed to understand.
"So what brings you punks to Waterfall City?"
"Well, I need to learn self defense before we advance in Hotland (just in case)." Chara chimed in.
"And I want to learn magic!"
"Yeah. And we thought you'd be the best person to ask to teach us, being the captain of the Royal Guard and all." Undyne flashed a bright smile.
"Yeah! Sure, I'll get you punks combat ready in no time! Fufufu! But, uh... You two really can't stay here in waterfall city. Don't worry I know a different place."
