*Incident at his Brindavana:*
There is an old Brindavana in a village called seithunganallUr in Tamilnadu. The surroundings had become unclean. Madhvas from some near by town and chennai upon learning this came to that place to clean. It is a forest kind of area. They visited that vrindavana and cleaned the surroundings. During afternoon, an old brahmana came near that brindavana and enquired about them. They told him their purpose of visit. Upon being inquired if they had their lunch, the youth replied to have not eaten anything. The old man told them that there is indeed a place very close where there is a facility for food. He pointed his finger towards a nearby mantapa and said that lunch has been put over there for visitors. The group went there and there was indeed lunch ready in big bowels, but no one to serve. So they helped themselves. They had their food and came back but old man had left by then. They visited the only madhva brahmin house in that village and said that they would like to take leave. The brahmin was sad that he could not serve them food as they were many in number and also his financial condition was not good enough. The group replied saying that they had food in the mantapa near the brindavana. The brahmin replied, "It is an abandoned mantapa. No one has ever put up any food there for many decades. No one goes there at all. Who asked you to go there and how come you had lunch there? Because the only brahmin family in this village is mine and there is no other old brahmin in this village. Also people do not visit that forest area at all" . The group was shocked and they revealed the whole incident and again visited the mantapa. To their amazement, there were no vessels there and no sign of even a grain of food anywhere. They realised that it was the yathigalu of the brindavana, who out of love for them had come and provided them food, in the disguise of old man.
The brindavana is that of Shri rAma mAdhava tIrtharu. He is the Sampradaya pravarthakaru of Sri mAdhava tIrtha maTa. He gave mAdhva deeksha to a section of the Saurashtra Brahmins in South Tamil Nadu. To bring home Vayu worship, he consecrated a Hanuman temple in Madurai, which still exists near Alankar theatre.
He travelled further south and founded a Madhwa agrahara at Seythunganallur. In Seythunganallur itself, he entered Brindavan on Ratha Sapthami day. He continues to give darshan, appearing as a peasant or such other forms, to even a casual devotee to Seythunganallur. He is believed to be an amsa of Bhishmaru.
