The Girl Standing Front Row (revised)

Chapter 48

It was finally Sapphire's 18th birthday! She woke up extremely early and the first thing she saw was everybody standing above her saying Happy Birthday to her. Liz prepared her a special birthday breakfast with a single candle popping out from the top as Luke said.......

"make a wish"

She looked up at everyone standing over her and she just smiled. She closed her eyes slowly and took a deep breathe in and a deep breathe out and then blew out the candles. Everyone then backed away from her as she got out of the bed and walked to the kitchen. She looked at her phone and noticed she had 3 missed calls from her brother so she decided to call him back. She walked up and down the hallway with the phone to her right ear holding it with her hand. The phone rang 3 times but finally after the fourth time he picked up the phone and said

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAPPHIRE" he yelled through the phone at her

"thank you so much, hows everything going?"

"pretty good, I talked to Luke's mom and your present was shipped to her house and it should be there soon enough"

"that's amazing thank you so much"

"well i gotta go or i'll be late for work, but call me later"

*hangs up the phone*

She reentered the kitchen and saw a man standing there looking down at the plate with the candle on it.

"hello, can i help you?" he said to her

"no, not that i know of" she said in confusion

then a voice from upstairs yelled in an Australian accent "ANDY COME UPSTAIRS I NEED YOUR HELP!" it was Liz who yelled for her husbands assistance.

"oh, your Mr. Hemmings, hi, i'm Sapphire, it's so nice to meet you"

"wow, you the wonderful Sapphire I've heard about" he said "well excuse my rudeness i just found it a bit weird that a stranger was in my house"

"totally understandable, well i'll see you around sir" she said as she couldn't exit the kitchen quickly enough to go find Luke. She ended up playing with Molly for a while in the front yard until Luke came outside and found her.

"Let's go Sapph, get dressed, get ready, let's go" he said pulling her up off the grass.

"why, where we going?" she said putting her hands around his neck resting her forearms on his shoulders.

"we are going wherever you would like to go because it's your special day.....and everyone is coming with us so that you'll be with your friends"

She kissed Luke on his lips as she went inside to go get dressed and make herself look more presentable then how she did when she woke up. She put on a white crop top with the letters Los Angeles in grey across the front of it. Above that she put on a red and white opened flannel shirt and had a pair of light blue shorts on. For shoes she wore a pair of white converse. Then she did her makeup and met Luke outside. Everyone else had already left to the mysterious location he was taking her too. They were walking down the streets just holding hands and talking for a while until they reached a spot and stopped walking. Kyleigh, Mackenzie, and Sophia were outside waiting to basically collapse on Sapphire with giant birthday hugs. The eight of them were going to be spending their day on the beach because it was Sapphire's favorite place in the world.

"This is amazing guys!" Sapphire said

"Happy Birthday again to our best friend" Kyleigh said pulling her onto the beach

"Wow the beach isn't crowded at all this is the best day" Michael said

They laid out three old bed sheets and set up their seats, umbrellas, and coolers. The girls were all taking birthday selfies with Sapphire to post on Instagram and Snap chat. Then they made Luke and Sapphire stand together for a nice picture of them together on her birthday. They took a couple in a normal way then of them kissing and another them just having fun together.
