The group had been at the campground for nearly a week and they were running low on supplies so it became the best idea to start heading home. For their last day they decided to just relax and see the view for the last time on the top of the mountain. After a few hours of packing up everything into their bags they finally began hiking back down to go home.
"Sapphire, did you have a fun time while we were here?" Mackenzie asked
"I did it was actually really fun. Seeing things I've never seen before"
"Hiking was fun, wasn't it Sophia" Kyleigh said trying to get Sophia to admit she had a good time
"Okay I know what your trying to do and you'd be absolutely right I did have a lot of fun" Sophia said
"See guys this trip was long over due and in glad we were able to do this"
"Yeah but now we need to get home right away" Luke said anxiously
"Why?" Michael asked
"Because he misses Anissa that's why" Mackenzie said
"Of course he does and so do I want to see her little face again" Sapphire said
"Would you guys ever think about having another kid?" Kyleigh asked
"I haven't really thought about it much to be honest" Sapphire said
"Plus they still need to figure out stuff about Anissa's gift" Mackenzie said
"Yeah but Anissa is getting older and if you want her to have a sibling you don't want their ages to be too far apart" Michael said
"I don't think Anissa needs a sibling right now" Mackenzie said
"It's just something Luke and I never even thought about"
"It's just too complicated but we have all the time in the world" Luke said
"Yeah......" Sapphire held back tears saying "time is of the essence"
"Okay let's all stop talking about that because we are finally down the mountain and now we are officially headed home" Mackenzie said quickly changing the subject
The ride home was quiet and uneventful. The guys just talked with Sophia and the tour and how they could make time to do more fun things with everyone while they were here. Mackenzie Sapphire played a game they use to play when they were kids because they had absolutely nothing better to do. It was a game that involved quiet voices which neither of them had so the game quickly failed. The ride was going really fast because before anyone could be tired enough to fall asleep they dropped everyone off where they were staying to sleep. Sapphire and Luke got home and immediately went inside to see Anissa. When they went inside she was sitting on the couch with someone who wasn't Jack. It was Elliot.
"Elliot! What are you doing here?" Sapphire said
"Finished for the semester so I figured I'd come here and check out the insane beach Luke brags about"
"How long will you be here?" Sapphire asked
"No idea" he said
"And I only brag because our beaches are the best ever" Luke said
"I'll be the judge of that" Elliot said "how about tomorrow morning we all go together?"
"Sounds good because I'm exhausted right now" Luke said "how about you Sapph you in?"
"Umm.....I guess so but can everyone come"
"Of course they can it wouldn't be an adventure without them" Elliot said
