They got in Sapphire's car and she pushed the gas pedal to make it in time for Luke's flight. By the time they got on the highway it was already after 5:30 so they would be getting their right on time for his flight. Sapphire didn't say a word because reality finally hit her that Luke was leaving and they'd have to say good bye for a while. She sat in silence while Luke talked to her about him leaving.
"You know ignoring me this ride won't make you miss me any less"
"Maybe not but i can't have you miss your flight either" she said as she pushed on the gas pedal a bit harder
"We still have time don't worry"
"I just don't want to say goodbye to you. Ever!"
"Good because your not going to" he said "we are only leaving for a little while and saying goodbye means forever"
"Well i don't know what to say then" she said as they finally approached the airport.
"We're not saying goodbye, we're saying see you later because i can't say goodbye to you. Ever!"
She parked the car on a bad diagonal that she took up two spots. They ran inside passing different gates, getting tickets, and being searched by security. Finally they found the gate that read 214. Sapphire looked around for Michael, Calum, Ashton, Mackenzie, and Kyleigh. Once she found them they began going over to them.
"Look at me please" Luke said placing his hand on Sapphire's chin slightly lifting her head up.
"I can't stand the idea of you leaving right now. I mean we just met and now its over"
"Hey, don't talk like that. It's no where near over. It's just a delay" he said "remember the song i sang you on the pier"
Sapphire nodded her head up and down
"Well one of the lyrics is you were crying at the airport when they finally closed the plane doors. I could barely hold it all inside".
"I remember the lyrics" she said with more tears forming in her eyes again.
Luke put his hands around her back and pulled her closer to him.
"Well i don't want to see you cry over this because we aren't saying goodbye. We are only going to say see you later because i'll be back later"
"Okay. See you later Luke" she said whipping a single tear off of her face.
"See you later" he said leaning in to kiss her lips for the last time until he came back to town.
*flight 746 to Virginia is now boarding. Please make your way to the terminal gate to give your ticket and board the plane. Thank you*
A women said over the loudspeaker and Sapphire couldn't hold back her tears any longer. She walked with Luke and everyone to the doors. The guys were the very last the enter the plane. As they were walking down the terminal Luke looked slightly back at Sapphire and waved to her. As he was starring at her the women closed and locked the coded door so that the plane could take off.Mackenzie and Kyleigh went to comfort Sapphire but she rejected their hug and went to go sit down for a while.
Luke began to walk in the terminal exit. As he was walking he looked back at Sapphire and waved. Once he waved the women that was standing there closed the door and put in the code to lock it so that the plane could take off
Sapphire couldn't hold back her tears any longer. Once again Mackenzie and Kyleigh went to comfort her she couldn't help herself and she broke down into tears not wanting Luke to leave her.
"Look Sapphire i know it hurts now but i promise you'll be fine and you'll see Luke really soon"
Sapphire sniffled her now stuffy nose and puffy eyes because she was crying.
Mackenzie and Kyleigh sat on either side on her and hugged her even though she didn't want a hug right now.
"Sapphire come on we'll drive you home" Mackenzie offered
"No thanks i just wanna sit here for a while"
"Do you want us to stay with you" Mackenzie asked
"No i'll just be here for a little while i promise" she said "i'll see you guys at school tomorrow morning"
"Okay love you girl" they both said giving Sapphire a hug goodbye
"Call us if you need anything at all" Mackenzie said.
The flight to Virginia would take about 2 hours so that's how long Sapphire was going to stay at the airport.
