The Girl Standing Front Row (revised)

Chapter 11

-the following day-

Sapphire had not told her friends that Luke had called her or told them that they would be going on a date that night. She wanted to wait until either right before the date or just after it too see how things went. She was incredibly nervous for her date tonight because she had never been on one alone and she is still a very shy girl. She hasn't been broken out of her shell yet.

The entire day Sapphire was searching through her closet to find out what she was going to wear tonight. Her entire bed was covered in clothes in different piles which varied from 'like' 'hate' 'love' and 'possibly' and some just randomly thrown onto her bed without thinking about them. Suddenly, a knock on her bedroom, and she went to go open it in her doorway was Mackenzie and Kyleigh standing there and they showed up at her house with bags and bags of candy. She was happy to see her best friends but wasn't ready to tell them about her date because of what they might say but at this point she felt that she might not have a choice.

"Hey girl, whats with all the clothes everywhere you look like your getting ready for a date tonight"

Without Sapphire even blinking yet let alone responding to them the girls knew that she was hiding something from them and after everything they had heard last night they were able to put two and two together and realize that Sapphire must be going out with Luke tonight.

"NO WAY! Your going out with Luke tonight" Kyleigh shouted closing the door and throwing the candy onto the dresser.

"Don't freak out too much yet i don't even have an outfit" sapphire said holding up different clothes ranging from shirts, dresses, skirts, shorts, and pants"

"You should definitely wear a dress, it's still pretty warm out" Mackenzie said

"Okay but which one, i just realized i have way too many outfits in my room"

"Thanks for the reminder that your rich Sapphire, I've been wearing the same shirt for the past two days I just keep spraying it with cleaner" 

"I'm not rich you dumb ass, the money is technically not mine until I'm eighteen" she said smiling into her mirror holding up a dress. "Once I'm eighteen then I'll be rich" 

"wear that black somewhat of a tight dress" Kyleigh suggested holding up a black lace dress.

The dress was down to just above her knee cap and was skin tight but was capable of showing the figure she worked hard getting from sports. It is black lace with minimal straps on the shoulders and it felt like beautiful silk fabric.

"Okay i like that one, now i'd would need to wear stockings with it so I have these with no print or these with a print on them".

"The print ones look nicer with the dress"

"Great and i can wear this silver belt with it"

"And you can wear these black heels with them"

"Thank God you guys showed up i would have never found an outfit, plus i want some candy right now" she reaches over to her black dresser and finds her favorite candy sitting in a bag.

"I'm so nervous for tonight"

"Don't be nervous it's obvious Luke likes you" Mackenzie says trying to comfort her friend.

"Thanks, by the way can you guys help me put this stuff away before my brother sees this mess"

"Of course" they begin grabbing clothes are re-hanging them in her closet.

Every minute Sapphire would check her phone to see if she had any messages from Luke. But when she checked her phone at exactly 2:07pm it came from an unknown number so she decided to check who it was texting her. The message read.....

'Hey Sapphire it's Michael, Luke's friend just wanted to wish you luke on your date tonight with him, hopefully all goes well. If you wanna know anything about Luke just let me know and i'll help you'

She replied to him by typing 'thank you Michael, I'll definitely let you know if I want to know anything'

You then showed Mackenzie and Kyleigh the message. They can't help themselves but make puppy dog pouty lips and saying "awww" at the screen.

The time was now 4 o'clock and Mackenzie and Kyleigh were about to help her start getting ready. They started by having her wash her face. They spread some foundation and cover up on her face. Then they began putting on eyeliner, eye shadow, and mascara. Then they finished her face by putting on some lip gloss and at the same time Kyleigh was doing her nails with dark maroon red nail polish. Then Sapphire began to get dressed in her dress, stocking, and fancy heels. She did think that she was over dressed but by the way Michael described Luke during a date she figured he'd be dressed nicely also. Sapphire was looking into the mirror when they were done and Mackenzie and Kyleigh came into the view of the mirror and clapped saying "you look beautiful Sapphire, Luke will love you tonight".

"Thanks guys!" She said turning around hugging her best friends.

*knock on the door*

"You look great Sapphire" her older brother Elliot said 

"Thank you Elliot" 

"Can we talk for a second?" 

Kyleigh and Mackenzie left to go in the living room and Elliot took a seat on your bed as you sat down next to him.  Elliot is Sapphire's only source of family and he cared deeply for his little sister. He didn't want to see her getting hurt and he felt it was his job to protect her. 

"Your going to be careful tonight, right?"

"Of course I am" she said giving her brother a sympathetic hug. "It's only a date and I won't even be out to late" 

"You know I trust you right" 

"I'd like to hope so considering I've never given you reason not to trust me" 

"Your absolutely right, go have fun tonight. Just let me know when you will be getting home" Elliot said 

Sapphire smiled at her brother and went with him downstairs to find Kyleigh and Mackenzie on the couch waiting for her to come downstairs.
