After spending a few days in Australia having the time of her life with Luke and his friends and family. Sapphire was sitting on the couch in the living room reading a book by herself while Luke was practicing with the band at Ashton's house.
Liz walked in the room and said "Hey Sapphire can i talk to you for a minute" having her hands behind her back
"Sure what's going on?" She said putting the book mark in her book
"I've never seen Luke this happy and because of that i wanted to give this to you" she said handing her a wrapped present
"Aw thank you so much you didn't have to"
"Well considering we met randomly on a plane and we talked for a while about reading. I remembered I had this book from a very very long time ago from my mother"
When she opened the present it was a very old dusty book. When she dusted it off it said The Law Of The Jungle on the front of it. It was the original copy from the 1900s of Sapphire's favorite part of The Jungle Book that she had told Liz about on the plane.
"Wow you really listened on that plane ride here" she began to tear up
"Of course i did. Your like a daughter to me even though we haven't known each other long"
"That makes me so happy you don't understand" a tear went down her face "I only got half a mother growing up"
"You want to talk about it"
She was already crying so Liz insisted that Sapphire talk to her about her family problems that she never talked about to anyone.
"Well my dad died when I was younger. My mom is always in and out of the house without telling us. Last time I saw her I was thirteen years old. And the only one who ever gave a damn about me is my brother. He could be finishing college right now but he couldn't leave me"
"Well you know what....you have us now. Your a part of this family. And your brother is near Jack and Ben's ages your an honorary Hemmings"
"Thank you so much Liz. That means so much to me. Thank you"
Sapphire and Liz sat on the couch together just talking to one another. They sat there for hours just how they did on the plane discussing different personal things between each other that no one else knows.
"Please don't say anything about these things to anyone" she begged "not even my best friends know about these things I've told you"
"You live in an empty house alone with your brother....where do they think your parents are everyday?" She asked
"I tell them that they work everyday of the week for over 16 hours a day" she explained herself
"Your secret is safe with me"
A few hours later Luke finally came home after hanging out and practicing with Calum, Michael, and Ashton. Liz and Sapphire were still sitting on the couch talking to one another about anything and everything whether it was minor or major thing that Sapphire needed to talk about with someone. Once Sophia came back from exploring Australia Liz began starting dinner for everyone. Staying in her house was Luke, Ben, Jack, Sapphire, Sophia, and herself. Sophia and Sapphire were in the guest room and Luke, Ben, and Jack had their own rooms around the house.
Liz was in the middle of cooking dinner when Sophia came inside and asked her if she needed any help preparing dinner. Luke and Sapphire were cuddling on the couch watching Law and Order together and Ben and Jack were on their computers doing whatever they were doing.
"Come and eat!" Liz shouted from the kitchen
"Looks good Mum!" Jack said giving Liz a peck on the cheek before sitting down
They all sat down around the table and the island in the kitchen and began digging into their food. Liz asked how everyone's day was that day.
"Sophia how was your day exploring around Sydney?" Liz asked
"It was incredible you have such a beautiful country" she explained her day trip "the beach was magnificent....such clear blue water"
"I want to go to America soon?" Jack said
"You should our country is very.....different" she smiled "you can come back with us" she giggled
"Different isn't always a bad thing" Ben added to the conversation
"So Sapphire what did you do today?" Luke asked
"Mostly just reading and writing I was exhausted today"
"Luke how was practice today with the guys?" Liz asked changing the subject away from Sapphire
"Good Calum played a new song he wrote for us to possibly record then we played some of our songs just to see how they sound"
After dinner Liz, Sophia, and Sapphire were cleaning up the kitchen together.
"Wow I've never had girls helping around the house before" she said cleaning the plates "the boys don't do much around here" she smirked
Sapphire went into Luke's bedroom to see him before she goes outside for a walk. She liked to do that everyday after dinner just to clear her mind. When she walked into the room she saw Luke lying in his bed on his phone watching TV. "Nice to know you still know how to be a teenager" she said only halfway inside his bedroom. She noticed something on his table behind the closet. It was a picture of Luke and his old girlfriend Aleisha together at what looked like a school dance picture.
"That's a cute picture" she said looking at it
"Thanks, it was my favorite picture of us together"
"I thought you said you haven't talked to Aleisha much since you broke up"
"We haven't talked at all"
"Well i think it's sweet you kept the picture" she partially lied
"I wanted to get rid of it but I felt that it would be like throwing away a part of me before i became a performer"
She walked over and sat next to him on his bed. She had her head on his shoulder as Luke was softly rubbing her back. He laid back on the headboard of his bed and Sapphire ended up having her head and her hand laying down on his chest.
"If it bothers you i can throw away the picture"
"No way! Don't do that you don't know how Aleisha would feel about that"
About a half hour after Luke and Sapphire were lying down talking quietly to each other, it was nearly 10pm and Sapphire got up to go for a walk outside by herself. When she left the house she was walking quietly down a couple of the streets when she saw a cat approaching her down the street. She bent down and pet the cat for a while until she noticed the tag on him that said the address. The address was only down the street so she decided to take him back. When she knocked on the door a beautiful girl with thick curly blonde hair and a pleasant smile came outside.
"Hi I'm Sapphire i was walking when i noticed that this was your cat walking down the street. I didn't know if you knew or not that he got outside"
"Oh my God. Thank you so much.....Sapphire? Was it" the teenage girl said
"Yes"
"Well I'm Aleisha. Nice to meet you!" She said shaking Sapphire's hand "I take it you aren't from Australia"
"Yeah i'm from America"
Sapphire's face went blank when she heard the girl say her name was Aleisha. She thought to herself 'what are the odds that this is the Aleisha Luke use to date'. She smiled at the girl and turned away to walk back to Luke's house.
