CHAPTER 70: LAILA

Shehnaaz was sitting in the big hall with some kids around her... It was almost 9 but Sidharth hasn't come yet... He had massaged her that he will be late as he had an emergency and told her to wait for him... Shehnaaz didn't mind at all.

It's normal as he is a doctor and Shehnaaz can never mind spending time with her kids... She is the most happy when she is with her kids... She fed some kids and played with some... Asim was also with her... They talked giggled and laughed so bad that Shehnaaz's stomach started to pain...

Her phone pinged after sometimes... It was him...

'Hey beautiful, I'm here'

She smiled at his text. She looked at Asim and said..

"Sidharth is here!!!" taking her purse with that smile and getting up... He gave a teasing smile to her...

"Tu bilkul Laila nehi ban gayi. Pyaar me pagal" He said... Shehnaaz looked at him like she didn't get anything... Inspired by Sidharth when he was playing innocent last night...

"Kya bol raha hain" she wasn't looking at him... But her blush didn't get unnoticed by him... After knowing her for so long he could easily noticed her changes..

"God... You look like a love sick teenager, man." he said with a chuckle...

"Shut up yaar... Aisa kuch nehi hai." She glared at him trying to show that she is angry but she was miserably failed... Her red cheeks weren't helping her.

She started walking with Asim beside her... He was also following her...

"Ha,, hum to andhe hai.. kuch dikhta hi nehi.."he chuckled... She again gave him a glare and choose not to say anything...

After some steps he stooped...

"You go... I'll see you on Monday..." Asim said. It was Saturday night... Shehnaaz understood why he stopped... He doesn't want to meet Sidharth...

His disliking towards Sidharth was clearly visible in his action... From the very beginning... He also has some strong reason for that... Sidharth deserved this... But even he didn't say anything bad about him when he saw Shehnaaz happy with him... He can sense her happiness in her behavior... He knows Sidharth is a successful man and he is able to keep Shehnaaz happy... What he worried about was his actions in the beginning... So it's not easy to forget everything and suddenly staring to like Sidharth... And the last incident between them when Sidharth pulled Shehnaaz away like that... He just chose not to meet him...

"Asim" Shehnaaz with a puppy eyes said almost trying to ease the situation but was stopped by him again..

"It's okay Man... You just be happy... I'm happy with everything as long as you are happy..." he said and smiled...

Shehnaaz almost got teary eyed... He was always there for her, asked or not.. But he was there!!! Shehnaaz held his hand and squeezed it... Trying to assure him that everything between them will always be the same... Asim put his hand on hers giving her a light lipped smile...

She was out in 5 minutes when Sidharth texted her... He saw her getting out from the gate and he took some steps towards her...

"Hey Sweetheart." He held her hand and smiled...

"Hey" she said with the same smile, walking with him to the car... He opened the door for her and then walked to the other door taking the driver seat...

Although she gave him a smile and got in the car smiling but she was lost, looking outside the window... The drive was unusually quiet... She seemed to have lost in some thoughts... He grabbed her right hand by his left which was on her lap and pulled it to him placing it on his thigh... She looked at him...

"You look stressed!!! You okay??" he looking at her and again on the road...

"No,, I'm okay... It's just" she stopped... He rubbed her hand from his thumb and asked.

"It's just what"

Shehnaaz exhaled loudly and think for a minute then said

"I think you should have a talk with Asim" she looked at him and saw his expression changing instantly hearing Asim's name... It was normal before which is now tightened... He doesn't even like Asim's name from her mouth.

Shehnaaz rolled her eyes... He clearly doesn't like him... Just like she saw Asim doesn't like Sidharth either... Asim has a reason as he forced her into the marriage... And Sidharth has a reason that he can't tolerate any guy around her... 'What a lovely situation' she thought...

"What talk" she heard him after having a little silence...

"About that night... It wasn't a nice way!!!" she couldn't say anymore whatever he did that day... It wasn't needed also... He is the one who did that... That night changed their life... She didn't bring that topic but said

"He is my friend... He was always there whenever I needed a friend... Even on that night when— umm... When you... When I was homeless... He was there..."

Sidharth heard and a storm of regret hit him... He was the one who made her homeless... He was the one who brought her apartment's building and did that... He freed her hand, but still left it on his thigh... He rested his hand beside her... From other hand he held tight the steering wheel... He couldn't hold her hand anymore... He suddenly felt he doesn't deserve it... How could he do that with her...
