CHAPTER 78: PROTECTIVE

Sidharth had gone to receive Rita ji as her flight landed... Shehnaaz was literally jumping all over the house in excitement since they got the call... Though she insisted going with Sidharth but Sidharth denied it... He told her, he will take her home... It was late at night... However, she was happy... She missed her a lot... She already made some foods for them...

The doorbell rang and she opened it with the first ring... There, Rita ji stood with a face splitting grin, looking absolutely happy... Sidharth was behind her with luggage... Shehnaaz almost jumped over her and hugger her tightly,, kissing her everywhere in her face... Sidharth looked at her bewilder and thought... This girl,, is literally jumping in happiness watching his mother come back... His heart also caught the rhythm with Shehnaaz in jumping... He never imagined it... A life can be this happy... The bonding between a mother in law and a daughter in law... Between his mom and Shehnaaz... It's rare!!! He felt lucky and the happiest in the world... Watching the two most important lady happy and cooing to each other, saying absolutely nothing and anything to each other... All the while in each other's embrace... They weren't really willing to leave each other...

"Excuse me ladies!!! That's our home... If you want, you both can continue this inside..." They heard Sidharth saying this from behind... They both giggled and laughed...

Shehnaaz gave Rita ji her way to get in... She got in and Shehnaaz looked at Sidharth... He glared at her... Narrowing his brows at her... She was so confused as it wasn't even a second before he was smiling and happy... Why was that look for!!! He walked with the luggage and stopped at her...

"Did you check through the door before opening it?" Shehnaaz bit her tongue inside as he had strictly told her not to open the door without checking first... She opened it with the first ring... It was late at night... Though Shehnaaz always lived alone and had always been very careful about her own safety but today in her excitement she couldn't hold it... But Sidharth told her to do so!!! When she didn't give any answer he rolled his eyes at her... He pushed her inside and locked the door behind him...

Sidharth went straight to Rita ji's room to leave the luggage there and Shehnaaz went to Rita ji who sat with her in the living room... Sidharth came back to the living room with a box in his hand and found the ladies involved in gossips... They were laughing and gossiping... He stopped for a moment and thought...

'Wait,,, She just came and they already started gossiping... Women!!!'

He went to them and took a seat beside his mom putting his hand on her shoulder... Almost trying to cage her in his hold... He missed her a lot... His hug screamed about that... He never lived without his mom... Those years when he had to go to abroad for his medical degrees were the hardest of his life...

"Mom" he said hugging her from her side... trying to squeeze her... "I missed you." he said softly...

"Mera baccha!!!" she cooed him patting his back and rubbing it... She also missed him... Sidharth has always been her light of the darkness... It was for him she stood strongly after her husband...

Shehnaaz saw both of them with moist eyes... She always missed these affection all her life... She never got it... Watching his big man behaving like a baby,, craving his mother's love and touch... Every emotion which she has always caged inside her for wanting a family, tried to get out watching them... For a moment she questioned her luck... Why didn't she get this love from her own mother!!! Why life had to be so tough for her??? Why she couldn't jump in her mother's arm whenever she needed it... But she shrugged the thought out... One should leave the past behind if they can't change it...

"Main bhi aajayu???" she asked... Both Sidharth and Rita ji looked at her... Both of them spread their one hand to her with smile... She giggled and get in the hug holding Rita ji from one hand that was on their front and from another she held Sidharth which was on back... Sidharth moved a little and caged both of his girls on a big hug taking them inside his broad embrace...

After sometimes Sidharth started putting out some medical equipment from his box... Rita ji rolled her eyes at his son... She just got here and he is already started doing all that... Sidharth asked for her hand and she glared at her son...

"Suru ho gaya" she said looking at Shehnaaz who was grimacing at Sidharth... "I'm fine beta" She didn't give him the hand...

"Mom... It's important... Only I know how I let you stay away for so long... I need to check it to get sure... Please..." he tried to explain his action forcefully taking her hand to push a needle... She knew it's worthless to argue with her son about this matter... He won't leave her without being sure about her health... She knows he loves her a lot and very scared to loose her... He is very much protective... Though Rita ji had no problem with needles but Shehnaaz was making weird faces as if she is getting the needle... She looked at it squeezing her eyes... But she knew it's important...

After doing some test and getting satisfied Sidharth put all the equipment back in the bag and was walking towards his room when he heard Shehnaaz mumbling

"Ma,, pata isne kal kya kiya... Main thoda barish me bheegi thi... Mujhe jukham hua bhi nehi par phir bhi dawai pila di..." Sidharth chuckled... She is complaining to his mother about that... He didn't look back and got in his room with that smile...
