CHAPTER 19: HURT

"Dr. Sidharth aap yaha pe." Shehnaaz asked. When Sidharth actually realized she was really standing there. He also stood up in courtesy. He held a grip on his thought successfully. Unlike before.

"Yes, I am waiting here. Tum yaha pe? He asked.

"Ooww.. Waiting for someone!!!!.. must be someone very special." She teased him but there was a slight disappointment thinking Sidharth was waiting for a girl there.

Sidharth chuckled getting her indication.

"Yeah, someone very special. She is the most important and special person for me." He said looking at her eyes where he searched something but couldn't find. He was disappointed.

Shehnaaz on the other hand, her heart felt a pinch hearing all these from Sid. She thought that girl must be so lucky to have him in her life. Sidharth was so handsome and good looking that any girl can just spend her entire life just looking at him. She felt very bad but didn't let it reach to her eyes and smile. She doesn't want him to see any discomfort in her eyes hearing that.

"Oh wow. That's great." Only thing she could utter.

"And you! Why you are here? Meeting someone special?" he asked with a huge curiosity faking a smile in his face. Is she came there to meet any guy? That guy must be so lucky. Shehnaaz looked like a absolute doll in black. Her fair skin complexions was complimented in this dress. This though pinched his heart. He inwardly hoped that it wasn't what he thought.

Shehnaaz chuckled hearing him. Getting what he meant. She answered smilingly.

"No, no. not everyone is lucky like you!! Actually you will be surprise knowing that I came here to meet your mother."

Sidharth was actually surprised.

"What? You are here to meet my Mom. Main bhi unse hi milne aaya hu." He said with questioning eye.

Shehnaaz was also surprised but she also felt relieve that that someone so important and special was actually his mother. Of course why shouldn't she. She is his mother.

"Aap log ghar pe milte nehi kya? Jo yaha milne aaye?" she asked.

"Exactly this is what I said to her over phone. But she said its important to meet here." He explained.

"Oh, unhone mujhe massage kia tha. Aati hi hongi. Traffic me hain." She said.

Sidharth exhaled loudly. He now got everything. So he gestured at Shehnaaz to take a seat.

She took a seat following same he did.

"wohh, Mom sayad nehi ayengi.!" He said not looking at her.

"Par unhone mujhe bola ki aati hi hongi." She said with confusion.

"Haan, I know. Unhone jhooth bola tumhe." Still not looking at her. as he was thinking what to say to shehnaaz when she will ask why all these happening so weird.

"Aise kaise. Wohh jhooth nehi bolti. Pichle ek mahine me hum almost har roz milte hain. Kabhi aisa nehi hua. Wohh ayengi thodi der me." She explained with confidence which made him look at her in surprise.

"What! You guys are meeting every day from one month." He asked this time with shock.

"Haan, to isme itni badi kya baat hain? Kahin aap us din ki tarha jealouse to nehi ki apki Mom meri itni kareeb hain?" Shehnaaz was not getting why he behaved like that. She asked that with seriousness as he was making him confused.

"Oh, Shehnaaz." He huffed listening to her thinking capacity. What absurd she can think. That was kinda innocent too.

He took a long pause before saying.

"I need to tell you something." He said with nervousness.

"Yeah sure." She was actually waiting to get all that was happening.

"First order something for you." He suggested.

They both ordered drinks for them.

When the waiter was gone Shehnaaz asked.

"Abhi ap bologe? Mera dimaag dard kar raha hain. Main waise bhi isme itna zor nehi deti. Dimaag phatt jana hain mera." She almost complained him for her condition.

Sidharth smiled watching her even in this complication to say her everything.

"Mom ne jaan bujh je aisa kiya taki hum mil sake. Wohh hum eek dusre se milana chahiti thi sayad." He explained.

"Toh unhone mujhe ye bola kyun nehi? Mujhe bola ki unko meri help chahiye.?" She still didn't get it.

"Tumhe abhi vi samjh nehi araha?" he asked and she shrugged her shoulder stating No. Her body movement made him look somewhere else but he was quick to recover himself. Shehnaaz can easily catch him ogling at her. so he was quick.

"She wanted us to see each other." He said not meeting her eyes.

Shehnaaz now got it. She didn't say anything. She leaned on her back on the chair. She now understood everything. Rita ji's meeting her every day. Having so interest in her life. Her motherly behavior. She actually thought her as her daughter. As in daughter in law. When she didn't say anything he approached her coming closer and placing his hands on the table.

"I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable." He said a little embarrassed. Shehnaaz was still involved getting all the pieces together from last month together. She was trying to get all these in her head. Sidharth and her. Together. Was Rita ji thinking something more than that? Of course she does. That's why she made this plan. But she didn't say anything that made Sidharth guiltier. He thought Shehnaaz didn't like the idea of as they barely know each other. He thought Shehnaaz must have feeling forced.

"Don't worry Shehnaaz. She talk to me. I already said NO. You don't have to worry. I'm not even thinking about that." He said all these to make Shehnaaz comfortable but he didn't know it broke her heart. She wasn't even thinking about him yet. She was thinking about past one month, and he already said NO. So he rejected her. That triggered her ego. Why did he do that?

'What he already said NO to her. He didn't even tried to talk to me or ask me anything before saying NO. So he rejected me. Am I that incapable of him thinking about me that way?' She thought inwardly.

It made her disappointed and disgusted towards Sidharth. Her thinking about him sometimes disgusted herself.

'What does he think of himself? And what does he think about me even? How easily he said that he already said No. even I don't want this you could at least ask me.' She again thought this time looking at him disappointed. But she can't let him know that she was feeling that. That can only satisfy this egoistic man that she expected that. He didn't even considered her.

Shehnaaz too was not up for any relationship. She feared commitment. Because of some reason. The only relation she wants herself to commit totally is her relation with the children of her NGO. But even Sidharth saying No hurt her to the extent. She felt disappointed. She felt less. She felt incapable of him, she felt rejected that made her heart pained. Her self-respect got hurt. But she can't let him know so, right. She can't let him know that and get more humiliated. She has to pretend like she is happy with his decision.

"Shehnaaz, say something. I know what my Mom did," he couldn't complete when Shehnaaz stopped him.

"She is a mother. Her worrying for her son is normal. It was not her fault. And thank you Dr. Sidharth jo aapne pehele hi mana kar diya. Thank you for that. I would have do the same. I'm also not looking for any relationship" She said with a cold tone. Never to bring her inner emotion in her face for once.
