i wake up and look down at draco still asleep, his arms wrapped tightly around my waist. i sigh as i turn my head to look at the clock on the wall, i really need to get up yet, i don't want to. he needs me, he had a bad day yesterday, what if today is the same. besides, i know what it's like to go to sleep with someone and then the next morning be left alone, it's not fun.

my hand runs through his hair again and he lets out a breath as he squirms. "elizabeth" he breaths out "good morning, sorry to wake you but i really need to start getting ready" i laugh. "can we please just stay here all day? the professors won't care" he tries to convince me and i shake my head. "i'm sorry but no, i really can't miss anymore classes" i laugh and he sighs.

he rolls over so i'm able to stand up, never opening his eyes. i smile as i roll over so i'm facing him, he opens his eyes. "are you feeling better" i ask and he shrugs "i'll be alright, elizabeth. don't worry about me" he says as he brings his hand up and places it on my cheek. his thumb moves slowly back and forth on my skin "thank you for staying with me last night. and for not getting upset about the dinner" he says and i smile. "of course, draco. you don't have to thank me" i shake my head.

"alright, go ahead, i'll see you in class" he says, pulling his hand away. "okay, but if you want i can tell the porfessors you're sick" i shrug and he shakes his head "no. it doesn't help me to just lay in bed all day" he says and i nod.

i walk into the great hall and sit beside cam like usual. "so how was dinner, is lover boy making everything up to you" esmeray asks and i smile "it was fun" i lie. she already has her doubts about draco, i don't want her to have another thing to have against him. and it's not my place to tell her he was having a bad day.

"that's good. if you two end again, i don't believe in love" caleb laughs and i shake my head "we should not be your example of love" i say and kai nods. "it's ron weasley's birthday tonight, his brothers are throwing a party. we're invited" cam says and i laugh "since when are we friends with ron weasley" i ask. "since fred weasley became the person that gets us firewhiskey" kai laughs and i shrug. "i might come, i don't know yet" i say, not knowing how draco will be feeling.

"since when do you turn down a party" caleb asks and i shake my head "can't we just say that i don't have good luck with parties" i laugh and esmeray nods. "seriously, you've been through everything" she laughs, yet she doesn't even know most of it.

after breakfast i walk into my first class and sit down, leaving the seat beside me open for draco.

after a while, i watch as draco walks through the door. his eyes are still tired but he's cleaned up like always. he sits beside me and i smile "you look nice." he looks at me and laughs "i always look nice" he remarks and i roll my eyes. he places his hand on my thigh and i look at him "i'm just sitting it here, not trying to start anything. unless you want me to" he does his annoying eyebrow raise and i shake my head.

"liz, hey" neville says, we don't talk much unless we're in class. he usually sits beside me because he's one of the only guys i trust. draco looks at me, obviously he doesn't really know that i actually speak to him. "hey, neville" i smile. "are you coming to ron's party tonight" he asks and i shrug "i don't know yet, esmeray told me about it but i'm not sure. i'll let you know though" i nod and he smiles "alright, see you later" he nods before walking away.

"since when are you friends with longbottom" draco asks and i look at him "i always have been but it's really only in class" i say and he nods. "just have a whole different life in the classroom don't you" he says and i shake my head "no not really" i laugh.

"why don't you know if you're going" he asks and i shrug "i thought i would stay with you tonight, and i know you're not a fan of the weasley's so i know you're not going" i say and he laughs. "you don't have to stay with me, elizabeth. i don't need a babysitter. i don't need your pity just because i had a bad day" he moves his hand from my thigh and i sigh. "draco, i'm not pitying you, i'm just spending time with you" i shake my head but he just ignores me. "seriously" i scoff, still silent. "fine, nothing is good enough for you, is it" i roll my eyes.

"i didn't say that" he says and i laugh "didn't have to" i say and he sighs. "elizabeth, i'm sorry" he apologizes, setting his hand back on my thigh, "yeah" i shake my head as i just focus on the professor. "thank you for thinking of me, i appreciate it. but if you want to go to the party, go" he says and i shrug "i didn't really want to go anyways" i say and he nods. "draco, i understand you're having a hard time, but don't take it out on me" i say and he lightly squeezes my thigh "i know, i'll work on it. now focus on your work like a good girl" he whispers and i look at him. he hides his smile as he forces a smirk onto his face, i laugh.
