one hundred one

a/n: hey guy, so if these chapters aren't really going with the plot of the movies and books just go with it, because i'm not really focused on the timeline. but i hope you are all still enjoying. and um yeah also, i'm like writing this at 1am so if they are sloppy just lmk, i'll delete them and rewrite them tm <3

i'm pacing back and forth in the kitchen, wondering to hear what's happening at Hogwarts. it's been hours. i should have heard something by now, from draco, from esmeray, oh god i hope they're okay.

"elizabeth" draco's voice echos through my home and i can feel a wave of relief float off of me. he's okay. i can't hate him anymore. he had a reason. he was protecting me. he never actually stopped loving me.

i run to the door, draco stands at the front of it, he looks terrible.

"what happened? is everyone alright" i ask and he sighs "i'm so sorry, elizabeth" he says and i look at him. "what happened, draco" i say, my voice more stern this time.

"i had to let the death eaters in, and after i did thats when i came to warn you. once i left you, bellatrix and some other death eaters rampaged through the school, killing off some people just for fun. and there were some students trying to fight back and- esmeray and caleb didn't make it" the news hits me like a bullet, shooting through me. no. god no. not caleb. not esmeray.

the tears in my eyes threaten to fall and the back of my throat burns from holding them in.

"and snape killed dumbledore. i was supposed to, that was my task, but i couldn't and snape did. i'm so sorry, elizabeth" he looks at me but all i can think about is esmeray and caleb, dead.

"i have to get back to hogwarts" i say and he shakes his head "you can't elizabeth. everythings going downhill. snapes going to run the school. voldemort's out for harry potter. there's going to be a war" he says and i look at him, still trying to hold in the tears.

"i don't care, draco. i have to go. my friends have been the only ones that stuck with me when you decided to drop me. so i'm going, i don't care if i have to stand front line in this fucking war, i'm going" i snap back and he sighs. "i have to go, elizabeth. but please, don't go. i have to have something worth fighting for" he says and i sigh. "i'll be here when this is all over, draco. i promise" i say as i step into the fireplace. "be safe" i say as i throw the floo powder down and end up in the slytherin common room.

i sigh as i step out and look at the kids in here, some seem normal and some seem shaken up. i walk out of the common room, glass broken in the halls, stuff thrown everywhere, the death eaters just wanted to destroy this place.

i walk all the way to the great hall and look inside, plates shattered, glass everywhere. but still no ones around.

i walk to the hufflepuff common room, say the password, and walk in. as i get inside i see cam and kai on the couch, and that's when i break down.

they look at me and sigh "you heard" cam says and i nod "draco told me" i say. "he did all of this, why are you speaking to him" kai snaps and i sigh. "he didn't want to" i defend him and cam looks at me. "she was protecting me. bellatrix was going to me and she stepped in front of her. why would she do that? fuck" kai cries out and cam sighs. "caleb attacked bellatrix afterwards, she killed him too" he says and i almost collapse to the ground.

i should have been here. i shouldn't have run. or i should have come to get them. i could have stopped them from getting killed.

"dumbledore's dead" kai says and i nod "i know"

"everythings falling apart" cam says "i know" i sigh

"we'll make it through this. everyone will be alright. we just have to stick together. that's what esmeray would have said" i cry and kai nods. "where were you, liz" he asks and i sigh "draco ran to my room, told me to run, to get out of here. and i did. i wanted to come get you guys but he said i didn't have time" i say and he nods.

"i'm glad you were safe. and i'm glad he was the one to save you" cam says and i smile. "where is he now" kai asks "no clue. he said he had to go, he tried to convince me not to come. he says there's going to be a war or something" i say and he sighs. "it's not safe here anymore" i say as tears threaten to fall again.

"snape's going to be headmaster now, it'll be miserable here. but i have an idea, if you guys are up for it" i say and kai looks at me "my house is empty. we can leave school, we're supposed to leave next week anyways. we leave, we can all stay at my house. i have enough space and everything. and that's where draco will come looking for me, to keep me updated" i say and kai looks at cam.  "i like it. but what happens when there is a war, what do we do then?" cam says and i sigh. "we fight. for esmeray. and for caleb" i say.

really, i don't know what we'll do. but i know we'll be safer at my house. where we're all together. cam's parents passed away so he's been living in his own and kai's dad is too old to even care. and besides, i have some of my mother's old notebooks, we can read over those and learn some things. we can be safe.

"i'll pack my bags" kai stands up and i nod "i'll meet you in the hall in half an hour" i say and cam nods as we all split up.

we'll be okay. we'll make it through this.
